September 2009

Greetings! Huntington Beach Hot Yoga is gearing up for another 30-Day Challenge, starting September 28th. Everyone is encouraged to sign up. Whether you are new to yoga, or have been practicing for years, the 30-Day Challenge will have an incredible impact on your yoga practice and overall well-being. Students often express concern regarding the time commitment it takes to fit in yoga every day for 30 days. The 30-Day Challenge should be treated no differently than other challenges in your life: take it one day at a time. The worst that can happen is reaching a new personal best in practicing multiple days in a row; whether your best is 3 days, 2 weeks, or 30 days! Making time for yoga every day is a commitment to your physical, mental, and emotional health. Sign up at the studio today!

Congratulations again to our Dayton Method Teacher Training Graduates!

Bob McHugh

Our September Student of the Month is Diana Winthers!

Diana, originally from Littleton, Colorado, has participated in both 30-Day Challenges and has over 300 classes to her name!

  • When did you start practicing hot yoga?
    "August 2007."
  • How often do you practice?
"I try to get here at least 4 times a week, besides the 30-Day Challenges of course. When doing the Challenge I have never felt better in my life. And I'm looking forward to the next one!"
  • Why do you practice? What are the primary benefits you experience?
"Mental clarity. Flexibility. I feel a whole lot more balanced and focused now that I'm doing yoga. The benefits to my general well-being are incredible. I see this as a lifelong commitment."
  • How has your hot yoga practice impacted or changed your life?
"Yoga has given me more balance in my life. The fact that you know you can hold that pose for another 10 seconds has carried over into other aspects of my life. I feel like I can accomplish whatever I set my mind too. I can get through any challenges that life brings my way. Plus I love the community; I've met some really cool people here at the studio."
  • What's your favorite posture?
"Believe it or not my favorite posture is triangle! Triangle is where I see the most growth in my practice and I know if I don't pass out during that one then I am good to go for the rest of class!"
