Make an Impact Without Leaving Home .
At a recent consultation for people involved in missions mobilization, it became apparent that the awareness and activity level of mobilizing people for ministry is going to greatly increase. More workers are needed...of many kinds and in many places...and the mobilizers are rising to the challenge! .
What also became apparent was that the enemy, who does not want to see more workers for God's kingdom, will most likely target the people who are helping supply those workers. That's us in Finishers, that's the staff members of several mobilization groups, that's the recruitment workers in local ministries and in mission agencies...a lot of people; and Lord willing, a lot of increased activity and effectiveness in the next few years. .
For this reason we have begun an effort to recruit 100 pray-ers who will commit to fasting and prayer for three consecutive days twice each year for 2011, 2012 and 2013. This is not taking time off work or your regular schedule; it is using those three days of fasting to increase your prayer for two items: .
1) More workers for the harvest, as we're told to pray in Matt. 9:38 and Luke 10:2, and
2) Spiritual protection for the mobilizers.
.
If you would like to be part of the force of 100, please respond to [email protected] Lyn has committed to be the communications facilitator for this effort; she will send you the invitation letter with further details.

Man Up? .
In recent months the phrase "man up" has gained a certain amount of notoriety. Generally, it is referring to a male who is not doing something he should, and therefore he should "man up". Or it is referring to a male who is doing something that typically does not fit with being a man, and he should therefore change...or "man up." .
So I was thinking...how about "Jesus Up?" .
If we, as Christ-followers, are doing things that typically do not fit with being like Jesus, we should "Jesus Up"; change our behavior or activity and act like Jesus. .
If we, as Christ-followers, are not doing what we know Jesus would prefer, we should "Jesus Up" and start doing what we know pleases him. .
Maybe we could all begin this year with the prayer: Lord, show me where I need to Jesus Up...and then do it!

Welcome our New Forums Director!
Great news! Willis Creighton has joined the Finishers staff to give leadership to Finishers Forums. This is a wonderful advancement for us. We have had 12 cities requesting Forums and have not had sufficient leadership to realize all those opportunities. Now we have a qualified person to develop these weekend events, and we are thankful to the Lord for supplying Willis. |
Finishers Forum - Seattle
May 20-21, 2011
Westminster Chapel 13646 NE 24th St Bellevue, Washington 98005
These conferences are especially appropriate for you if you're in your 40's or 50's. Boomers are the healthiest and best-educated generation at mid-life in history. At 50 you're only halfway through your adult years. Come explore new ways to offer your time and talent to the Lord.
A Finishers Forum will also challenge you if you're in your 20's or 30's. See how you can serve in the Great Commission now, and how you can plan your life so that you will be ready to serve in missions full time during your second-half.
Over 60? This conference will show you how to make connections so that you can serve and play a role for the Lord among the nations with your lifetime of experience.
If single or single again, you will discover opportunities that fit your flexibility.
If a couple, you will find a fit for each of you among the thousands of options available.
If you serve on a Missions Committee, this conference will equip you to help others find a place to serve - from short-term assignments to a full time ministry. Time with agency reps will also provide insights from the mission agency perspective and ideas on how you can serve your missionaries better.
Your biggest risk is to not take the risk to explore.
