Right now...as you are reading this letter, there are 340 significant ministry positions waiting for someone to step into. 340 is a big number, but it is only a fraction of the thousands of roles available through the 57 ministry agencies that partner with Finishers.
Those 340 needs are in 13 broad ministry areas: Communication, Community Development, Construction and Maintenance, Education, Engineering, Evangelism, Healthcare, Justice/Advocacy, Resource Management, Support Roles, Business As Mission, Relief and Development, and ESL/TESOL.
Perhaps you have some experience in one of these ministry areas. If so, and if you have a desire in your heart to invest the coming years of your life so as to make a difference, I suggest you visit the Finishers website to explore how you might invest your time and talents.
If you have never filled out a profile on our website to find ministry roles suited to your interests and abilities, I invite you to CLICK HERE You will find several steps you can take - always at your own pace and timing. You can complete a short questionnaire and receive the article, "Finding Your Calling". The second option is to submit a Service Profile of your interests and ministry preferences which will provide you with a list of our partnering organizations. You will be provided with the contact information so you can speak with personnel within those agencies to find out more about their opportunities.
If you have previously submitted a profile but not looked at it recently, I encourage you to update your profile in order to see what new opportunities have developed since your last inquiry.
We also hold weekend events designed to give you personal contact with ministry organizations. These Finishers Forums have large group sessions to examine what scripture says about investing our lives well, and breakout sessions to answer the questions you may have about making a significant jump into a new course for your life. If you have not attended a Forum, make plans now to attend one of the forums scheduled for Spring 2011. See dates in the column on the left.
If you already know you want to serve overseas somewhere, but you would like to talk with someone who has been down that road and can answer your specific questions, consider attending one of our Journey Deepens weekends. There you will have opportunity to spend in-depth time with excellent coaches who have served effectively in a cross-cultural setting and are skilled at listening and giving guidance.
Our mission is to help you connect with ministry roles that will enable you to finish well and make a significant contribution with your life in the coming years. That is what is behind our website matching service, our Forums and The Journey Deepens retreats. Please make good use of all we have to offer and be in touch with us if you have questions.
