Another "Yea God" Story:  It's Another Connection!

I was first introduced to missions by taking the Perspectives course back in 2000-1.  My eyes were so opened to God working around the world!  I then began volunteering for MissionsFest NW (now Mission Connexion NW) in the Portland, Oregon area.  Every year I would see the Finishers booth but didn't really do anything about it.  In 2005 I felt God was releasing me from my job of 10 years, to pursue a job I was passionate about.  My true passion is music and singing, but wasn't sure how to find a job that pays me to do that, so I looked for several other positions.  I then thought about my love of missions and remembered Finishers so I went to your website and found MissionNext.  I filled out the form and was matched with about 100 organizations.  When I read through them I found positions, but they were all self-supporting.  Disappointed, I continued to find one that had a Performing Arts department.  The one that caught my eye was Global Outreach.  I contacted the person and just told my story and that I was looking for a position and asked if they had any openings.  He and I began communicating and then I met him and some of the Performing Arts staff in November 2006.  In the midst of all this God was changing my heart through a workshop called Heart Change, where my heart is now truly free and I am living the abundant life!  And then in March 2007 I felt God strongly calling me to go on a missions trip to Kenya!  That was one country I really didn't want to go to but I said yes.  It was that trip where God showed me that anyone can be a missionary.  All I need to do is be His hands and feet and I am so excited.  I came home from that trip, and felt like it was time to fly to WV to check GO out and I made the decision to join them last June as an assistant in Performing Arts!  I have no doubt I'm supposed to go and I believe that God is and will be providing.  And I can say now that I still have a love and passion for music, but my true passion is God and His love.
