Summer 2011 Newsletter

Greetings!

With another spring behind us I am happy and thankful to report that Lawn Dawg experienced one of our best spring seasons ever! Our new customer sign-ups were at an all time high and our very high retention rate is testament to the outstanding service that all Lawn Dawg employees try to deliver. Despite these positive signs we will not rest until we have 100% satisfaction. I continue to research new and improved products, equipment and technology to better serve our customers. Not a day goes by without us asking if there was something we could have done today to make us better. The only way we know what we are doing right and what we are doing wrong is with your feedback. Please let us know how we are doing by going to our online report card and grading us. If you prefer that good old fashioned live person then please feel free to call customer service at (888) 993-3294. During regular business hours you will almost always get a live person.

Please don't forget about our free service call policy. It is not uncommon for weeds, insects, brown spots or other problems to arise between our regularly scheduled visits. Simply call us and let us know what is going on and we will send a technician out to take care of it - no charge!

Check out our photo contest later in this newsletter. You could win tickets to NASCAR races, Lawn Dawg apparel, gift cards, etc. Just send us a picture of your lawn to be entered into the contest.

I am also proud to report that Lawn Dawg was recognized as one of the top 150 lawn care companies in the country by Landscape Management magazine. It is a distinction that we have strived for and puts us into a group of companies that we are proud to be associated with. Thank you for helping Lawn Dawg be the leader in environmentally responsible lawn care in the northeast. To see the full list of 150 lawn care companies click here

Wishing you and you families a great summer!

Lawn Dawg HQ is Moving
That's right, Lawn Dawg headquarters is staying in Nashua, NH, but relocating to an office park. It is time we adjust for the past few years of growth and move into a more suitable location which will allow us to serve YOU more efficiently than ever. We are excited for this transition and should be completely settled in by July 8th. We are also looking forward to doing a Meet-N-Greet with our customers later this summer, details to come!
Summer Mowing & Watering
Mowing
  • Always mow high to shade soil and crowd out weeds.
  • Sharpen your mower blade often.
  • Mulch the clippings if possible.
  • Never cut off more than one third of the grass blade.
  • Never mow when temperatures exceed 90 degrees.

Watering

  • A healthy lawn needs about 2 inches of water per week.
  • Only water when it is necessary. Often rain is sufficient, but Mother Nature is unpredictable year after year as we notice her drought abilities last year.
  • Never water at night during humid weather.
  • Water deeply! (About an hour per zone every three days). Your lawn will go dormant and turn brown without sufficient water. This does not mean it is dead.

Now this may take a while!
