The Grass is Growing, Growing, and Growing !
 RAIN, RAIN, RAIN
The abundance of rain these past few weeks has caused overgrowth and disease activity in the lawns. When mowing be sure to only remove 1/3 of the grass blade at a time and if you can't bag your clippings, at least clean your mower deck to avoid the spreading of disease activity. As always visit www.lawndawg.com for Timely Tips on maintaining your lawn. |

Summer Lawn Tips
By Thomas Kelly, Vice President COO
*Mow High! Mowing high shades your soil, conserves water and prevents weeds.
*Mow Often! Don't allow your lawn to grow out of control. Mowing down high grass causes stress. Never mow when temps are over 85 degrees.
*Water Deeply! Water in the root zone is where you want it. Water on the surface evaporates.
*Cool Things Off! Running your irrigation system for ten minutes per zone mid day will lower surface temperatures drastically. It won't water the lawn but it sure will prevent heat stress.
*Call Us! If you've got weeds, call us! If your lawn is looking poor, call us! Crabgrass? Call us. If you have any concern at all PLEASE call us, we can help!
Summer heat and drought will always cause your lawn some stress. Be prepared for a few brown areas and crabgrass outbreaks but this is to be expected especially around driveway and street edges.

The Winner of the Florida Give Away!
Joanne Myles, Scarborough ME
"Jim, We're thrilled (and shocked!) to have won the Florida vacation drawing. My husband is a medical resident, and so his time off is limited. But the ONE trip we had hoped to make next year was to take the kids (ages 2 & 4) to Disney, so this is perfect! Thanks! Joanne"
When interviewed here is what Joanne had to say about her service with the Lawn Dawg:
Our records show you've been a customer of the Lawn Dawg since 2007, what first made you decide to hire the Lawn Dawg to take care of your lawn? We called Lawn Dawg within a few weeks of moving to Maine, after it sunk in that we had a "real" yard to take care of. We asked our neighbors for recommendations, and heard good things about Lawn Dawg. What do you like most about the Lawn Dawg's Service? That I can set it up at the beginning of the year and rely on LD for the rest! What has kept you loyal to the Lawn Dawg? The prices remain competitive, and the results have been just what we'd hoped they'd be. Once we had an issue with a section of the lawn that was inadvertently overtreated and they came right out to address it--literally within hours of us calling. The customer service has been excellent.
