- Alleviates Compaction - Compacted soil prevents water, air, and nutrients from reaching the root zone.
A machine will be used to pull out plugs of soil and the plugs are deposited back on to the surface. This will help to loosen your soil wich will allow for deeper and stronger root development. |
- Reduces thatch - Thatch is a build up of roots and stem that accumulate over time between the base of the grass plant and the soil. Heavy thatch acts as a home for lawn damaging insects. It also prevents water and nutrients from reaching the root zone.
Having a thin thatch layer is actually beneficial to your lawn. But when it begins to get too thick, it will prevent our fertilizer applications and other nutrients such as oxygen and water from getting to the soil. Aeration will help to reduce the thatch layer to a healthy level so you still get the benefits it provides and allow nutrients to reach the soil.

- Root Pruning - Aerating prunes the roots of your grass plants stimulating them to grow back thicker and healthier.
As the machine pulls cores of soil from your lawn it also prunes the roots. This will also allow more water and nutrients to reach deeper into the ground to provide a more quaility soil which in turn provides healthier grass.

- Seed Preparation - The thousands of open holes are a perfect opportunity to overseed your lawn.
Overseeding will increase the overall thickness and quality of your turf by introducing new and improved grass varieties to your existing lawn.
