BISHOP DUNCAN DEDICATES BURIAL GARTH AT ST. MARY'S, MILTON

MILTON, FL - A year ago a group of members of St. Mary's wanted to turn the garden in the rear of the church into a Burial Site for ashes of the deceased.  A plan was submitted to the vestry and approved.  Over the year the garden was developed and a beautiful bronze angel was donated.  The labor was done by church members and the help of Camp E-Ma- Chamee and Green Up Santa Rosa.

Bishop Duncan suggested that the garden was in fact a Burial Garth and so it became "St. Mary's Burial Garth".

On May 22, 2011 Bishop Duncan made his visit to St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Milton, Florida. After celebrating the Eucharist with us the Bishop and the congregation processed to the Garth where the Bishop dedicated and blessed our Garth and Angel.  The Burial Garth is a lovely place for meditation and we hope that it will remain a place of beauty and solitude for years to come. If you are ever in our area do stop by and visit our Garth.    Click here for photos
