Grace Episcopal Church, Panama City
| Grace Episcopal Church, Panama City | Supper
at Grace named as nominee in the Pepsi Refresh Project
By the Rev. Joseph Hagberg, Rector Grace Episcopal Church, Panama City Beach, FL gracerector@knology.net Office: 850 235 4136
Supper at Grace has been nominated for a $5000 grant from the Pepsi Refresh
Project! Supper at Grace is the meal served every Thursday evening to
the poor, the homeless, the unemployed, and the lonely of our community.
As I say on the video clip, what has impressed me about Supper at
Grace is that our people make everything so very nice for our guests. This grant will help us considerably in this ministry, especially as the
colder weather and holidays approach. Can you please circulate a
request that our diocesan family through their online voting help us to
achieve this grant? I said to my people on Sunday, I am from Chicago, but unlike in Chicago you can only vote for us once a day-but you can vote every day! This link will take you directly to our submission: www.refresheverything.com/supperatgrace If it's a ministry of Grace Episcopal Church in Panama City Beach, then it is also a ministry of the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast!

Christ Church, Pensacola
| Brotherhood of St. Andrew BBQ a great success!
Ray Jones Chairman of the BBBQ
iphone photo by Cindy McCrory
 | Members of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew Chapter at Christ Church, Pensacola, served over 600 plates of BBQ chicken and pork with all the trimmings at the annual BBBQ (Brotherhood BBQ) on Friday, September 24th. This is the fifth year the men have smoked bbq pork and chicken to raise funds for outreach programs.
"Several years ago, we were only selling around 20 - 25 lobsters for Wilmer Hall. Lobster sales for Wilmer Hall several years ago were not going as well as hoped. The last year we sold lobsters we only sold 22! So we decided to start smoking chicken and pork," said Ray Jones, Chair of the BBBQ (Brotherhood BBQ). "Now hundreds of plates are served each year and of course, more funds are raised for our outreach programs, which includes Wilmer Hall."
Warren Jerrems oversaw the huge bbq smoker which was set up in the back parking lot. "I began this project five days in advance, purchasing and organizing and then smoking all of the meat," Warren said as he stood in the hot sun, a baseball hat shading his face."I love doing it!"
Warren Jerrems (L) and JJ Spencer (R) take a much needed rest after tending the smoker for several days. iphone photo by Cindy McCrory

Houses for Haiti
| Bob Dean of Christ the King, Santa Rosa, began a house project for Haiti this past spring. At the recent clergy conference at Beckwith, Dean presented a challenge to all of our churches to raise
enough funds by November 1st to build 36 more Haiti houses.
The largest
churches would raise $3000, mid-size
churches to raise $2000..and the small churches to raise $1000. All
money raised is to be sent to Vince Curry, into a special account. The dollars would then be Episcopal Relief and Development for building the houses in Haiti. At that time, our Diocese will challenge the national
church to do the same. Bishop
Duncan and Bishop Schori are both excited about the challenge. The
Episcopal Church could possibly build 400 to 500 of these
houses, as the cost per house is only $3000! Contact your parish office if you are interested in giving to this fund. For more information on these houses, click here! Contact information for Bob Dean: 850 259 9050 bobdean@gnt.net

worthwhile to attend.

Please sign up and join us!
We hope you can make it, but as always, this webcast will be recorded and available for later viewing. Thank you!
