Kanuga Youth Week 2010!
Junior Young People (JYP), Senior Young People (SYP), and Adults Who
Work With Youth (AWWWY) is right around the corner. Every year,
Kanuga holds a conference for the youth and youth workers in the
Episcopal Church. Our diocese has attended this event for years and this
year we have chartered a 45 person bus for travel to and from this
conference. If this is something you are interested in being a part of.

The office of the Diocese has partnered with the Local Census Office
of Pensacola, FL to help recruit applicants for temporary census field
jobs. The positions start at $9 per hour in the office and $12 per
hour plus mileage from one's home for field positions. Supervisory
positions are as high as $15 per hour. Anyone interested in part-time,
temporary census work should call 1-866-861-2010 or visit www.2010censusjobs.gov for more information.

Annual Holocaust Day of Remembrance in Mobile to be observed on April 12, 2010
HOLOCAUST DAYS OF REMEMBRANCE

SPRINGHILL AVENUE TEMPLE, MOBILE, ALABAMA

The annual Holocaust Day of Remembrance in Mobile will be observed
this year on Monday, April 12, 2010, in the Springhill Avenue Temple, at
7:00 pm. Rabbi Donald Kunstadt and members of the Temple together
with the Mobile Christian-Jewish Dialogue are planning the evening
service and invite all to attend the solemn honoring of the millions who
were killed by the Nazis.
In this year's remembrance, special honor will be paid to the Allied
troops who liberated the survivors from the camps. At least one
liberator and one survivor will participate in the service.
Please attend, and please share this information and invitation with
members of your congregation.
The Mobile Christian-Jewish Dialogue includes Bishop Duncan as a
member of the Honorary Board and Fr. Thack Dyson and Fr. Albert
Kennington as members of the Board of Directors.

Christus Annual Conference, April 15-16, to feature the Rev. Dr. Tilden Edwards of the Shalem Institute
St. Paul's, Mobile to host Edwards on the 14th
 This year's Christus Annual Conference will feature Rev. Dr. Tilden
H. Edwards, senior fellow and founder of the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Washington, DC.
An Episcopal priest and author or editor of numerous books and
articles on the spiritual life, Edwards is known internationally for his
retreats and workshops on Christian meditation and contemplative
practice. His books Living in the Presence and Sabbath Time are ideal reading for individuals or study groups; or for spiritual guides,
Spiritual Director, Spiritual Companion. His lectures will be given at
Byrne Hall, Spring Hill College: April 15, 7-8:30 pm: "Living With the
Mind in the Heart"; and April 16, 9-10:30 am: "The Gift of Contemplative
Presence in Spiritual Direction."

Kanuga chosen to host National Military Family Association's popular Operation Purple summer camps for third year
Camp for military children expands, adds teen leadership option
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. - The National Military Family Association
announced that Camp Bob at Kanuga has been chosen to host two expanded
sessions of the Association's summer camps.
The Association developed this free summer camp program in response
to the need for increased support for military children, especially
those whose parents are or will be deployed.

Trinity, Apalachicola's Annual Tour of Homes April 30 - May 1, 2010

Apalachicola, FL - Plans are underway for the 18th annual "Historic Apalachicola
Home &
Garden Tour" sponsored by Trinity Episcopal Church. The weekend will begin Friday, April 30, with Evensong at 5:30 pm
followed by a lecture at 6:30 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church. Homes
will be open to visitors on Saturday, May 1 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Tour tickets will be on sale starting at 9:30 am May 1 for $20. Lunch
will be served from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in Trinity's Benedict Hall at a
cost of $10. A silent auction, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm, will also be a part

Two Iconography Workshops planned for May featuring iconographer Teresa Harrison

The first will be held at St. Simon's, Ft. Walton Beach on May 3-7. The second workshop will take place at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Pensacola, May 10 - 14. Workshop leader Teresa Harrison, wife of Edward Harrison, former Rector of St. Christopher's in Pensacola) and now residing in Coronado, California, is not only a noted iconographer, but a talented and sympathetic instructor as well.
