Greetings!

The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light.
-Isaiah 9:2; Matthew 4:16

Beginning with the example of the people of Haiti, who 'need to practice saying Alleluia' this year so that they can celebrate Easter in the midst of grief and darkness, Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori calls on Episcopalians to stretch their spiritual muscles in order to 'insist on resurrection everywhere we turn' in her 2010 Easter message, published in ENS Weekly bulletin inserts for Easter Day, April 4.  Click here for the Presiding Bishop's Easter Message

O
God, who for our redemption gave your only-begotten Son to the death of the cross, and by his glorious resurrection delivered us from the power of our enemy: Grant us so to die daily to sin, that we may evermore live with him in the joy of his resurrection; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. * ABOUT THE NEWS....

Readers,

The Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast is having to take some rather drastic financial recovery measures. As mentioned in a prior e-newsletter, one of the cuts includes diminishing the Director of Communications position to part-time.

As a result all Diocesan news will be covered on the website - www.diocgc.org - and this e-newsletter, Around the Diocese. The website may experience some delays in updates. The e-news is the new Coastline "online."

Several of you have asked if your event can be covered by The Coastline Editor. I am so disappointed to say that unfortunately under the circumstances, most on-site event coverage by the Editor will no longer be possible. Please be assured, however, that news sent to the Coastline office will be presented either on the website, the calendar, the e-news...usually all three. Please appoint someone or a team as "Coastline Communicators" if your church hasn't done so.  Have that person(s) cover the event and send in a photo and the report/story.
Please see left sidebar for submission guidelines.

Thank you for your patience as we go through this difficult time.

2 Corinthians 4:13-18
"So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day...because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal."

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
