Living here in Los Angeles, awards season is a big deal. This month, the Primetime Emmy Awards came early and as a result we are proud to bring you another installment of "Red Carpet Manners."  With the proliferation of style commentators discussing wardrobe hits and misses, we like to add a bit more dimension to reveal what is going on underneath the sheath.  Read our latest blog post for our personal notes on television's biggest night!
 
This summer flew by at lightening speed and it is hard to believe that Labor Day is just around the corner.  With the Fall upon us and school back in session, September promises to be a very busy month.  We have many new students joining us for the second season of our "Let's Dance!" Cotillion and we look forward to our first session on Wednesday, September 15th.  If you have children going into the 3rd thru 7th grades and you are on the fence about whether to send them, read our Top 10 List of Compelling Arguments for Enrolling Your Child in our Cotillion and take the leap! Limited space is still available. 
 
We always strive to bring you good, reliable information on all things manners and this month is no different.  In this issue of Impressions, you will find articles on chivalrous behavior for boys, air travel etiquette and good sportsmanship.  These tips should be helpful if you have children beginning a new school year or find yourself travelling for the holidays.

Beverly Hills Manners  is proud to present season two of our "Let's Dance!" Cotillion, a modernized version of the traditional cotillion more aligned to meet the needs and desires of children today.  Our friendly, interactive and entertaining approach allows  them to absorb the material while recognizing the value and relevancy of these essential life tools. The program which combines dance and etiquette is held once a month on a Wednesday evening beginning in the Fall of 2010 and ending in the Spring of 2011. Limited space is available.  Sign up now!

Our most popular class, the "Introductory Course" provides an overview into the world of manners and is full of interaction and practice for your child.  Children are instructed in all aspects of etiquette and protocol while developing fundamental character-building traits such as respect, compassion and common courtesies. In addition to the instruction, a formal dining tutorial portion is taught covering all rules of table and dining etiquette.  Children learn how to set a basic table, the proper way to use their utensils, how to manage specific types of food and beverages and how to initiate and participate in conversation during an actual 5-course meal.  Sign up now!
