News & Message for
November 2010
Greetings!

Heading into the holiday season is a good time to give thanks for the many blessings in our lives.

Each of us has much to be grateful for, no matter the outside circumstances. And as P'taah says in this month's message, there is a gift even in things that  appear at the time to be catastrophes.

Happy Giving Thanks!

With much love,

We're delighted that so many of you have visited and like our new Facebook page. It isn't nearly as empty as it was just a couple of weeks ago.

One thing we have been posting there is a link to P'taah's Weekly Quote. Because that quote is updated weekly on the P'taah website, we discovered that older links don't work.

To make those messages more easily available, we have added an archive of Weekly Quotes under the Notes tab on our Facebook page.

If any of you Facebook gurus have other suggestions, please contact us.

See you on Facebook!

November 2010 Message from P'taah

Q1:  P'taah. my 30 year old daughter was laid off of her job recently and the fear that I experienced was amazing. I'm sure it wasn't as intense as her fear, but we do have a strong mother/daughter attachment. I kept remembering what you said about breathing through fear. While that was really hard, I was able to breathe through at least some of it but I'd like your feedback on the situation.

P'taah:  You know, beloved, it is about sovereignty, is it not?

Q1:  It is, and more than anything else, that is probably what helped me most, remembering that she is a powerful sovereign being in her own right.

P'taah:  Indeed. And as you look at her life, from the time she was really a small child, you can see the pattern of how she has unfolded and how she has made sovereign choices.

Indeed also, what gifts these choices have been in her life. How she has grown. How she has come to know more about who she is. How she has learned that certain choices bring this result and other choices bring another result. So it is that as each of you grow and as each of you extend this sovereign choice, you learn.

And those of you who come into this new way of thinking and understanding that you create your own reality absolutely, so it is that then you may begin to change the way that you make choices. In other words, you can make choices from sovereignty rather than fear and also come into the understanding that whatever you create is a gift.

Indeed in this respect of daughter, that there is something very beneficial about this situation. After all, in a way that fear of yours is totally irrational, is it not?

Q1:  Oh, it is. But it is very real at the same time.

P'taah:   Absolutely.

Q1:  And it took over my being to where that's all I could think of. It was even a struggle to breath because the fear was so crushing on my chest.

P'taah:  You know, beloved, the fear was not about daughter, really. After all, is daughter going to starve?

Q1:  No. (Laughs) No, definitely she is not going to starve.

P'taah:  So what is the great drama?

Q1:  Oh. (Pauses) I don't know, I have to think about that.

P'taah:  Indeed, it is not to look at the story about daughter, beloved. It is about the fear, the irrational fear, that has come up, touching some places within you in your story, not her story.

Q1:  No. Yes, I understand exactly what you mean.

P'taah"  All right, so that is for you to contemplate.

Q1:  I will definitely do that. Thank you.

Q2:  What about sovereignty in this regard? Wouldn't it be a sovereign choice of her daughter and could she not say, "I would like to stay in this job?"  So why did it happen that she coule not choose it consciously? Where is the sovereignty then in this regard?

P'taah:  Sovereignty is how you are with whatever is occurring that is ostensibly beyond your control. When you have created or co-created at some level a situation, such as the termination of job, so it is that you can say, "Well, this is not my fault." Yet you have an emotional reaction to it and so it is part of your creation, even if it is not conscious.

So the sovereignty comes in how you choose to be with this circumstance, this co-created event. And none of you can see around corners but what you may absolutely take on faith is that whatever occurs may be a gift and of great benefit to you.

And you know, the greater part of you really knows all the possibilities and probabilities and sometimes it is necessary to create something like this in order to create that which is of greater benefit, of greater adventure, you see, of more fun, of something quite wondrous!

Q2:  So you use the word 'sovereignty' in a way which means to keep your head and motivate yourself in such a situation.

P'taah:  We use it in a way that you have freedom to choose how you will be with whatever circumstances you create or co-create. You can go into a depression. You can go into great fear. You can run around likened unto chicken with head off and be very woeful and have a pity-party. Or you can say, "Well, this has been a bit of shock but I understand that this will be to my benefit. That in this circumstance there is a gift for me if I can allow it." And that is called surrender to what is. You understand?

Q1:  Another aspect that struck me is that when two people are involved, the sovereignty also means that their problem is not mine to fix, even though this is something that I have been raised to do. It certainly is very much in my makeup to feel that I need to fix it. Sovereignty also implies that that's not what I am responsible for doing.

P'taah:  It is not your business. Your business is to be of loving support. To be in non-judgment and to be there for nurture and assistance, if it is required, without buying into the story of, "Oh poor me, I have lost my job!"

Q1:  Yes. It was fascinating because I have been paying attention so I don't buy into other people's dramas. I was very proud of how well I had done with some situations that had consistently entangled me for many many months. I really thought I was through being caught up in other people's dramas when then this happened. It certainly made me realize that there is always another layer of the onion.

P'taah:  Indeed. That is what is called expansion, beloved!

So, my beloved ones, sufficient unto the time for this day. We thank you for this opportunity and this joy of being with you all. Until we are together again, we issue forth with greatest love,

Namaste.
