February 2008
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Greetings!,
Here we are already in February, traditionally the month of love.
Our January Burning Questions session was  absolutely wonderful and if you don't already subscribe, we wanted to share a bit of it with you. The third track of this remarkable session is our gift to you this month.  In it P'taah answers the question about what we are supposed to feel, talks a little about the transition, and explains why the Mayan glyph CIB was chosen as his symbol.  The link to download this track is here and will be good for 14 days.  Remember, once you double-click on the link, the file will download to your desktop.  It's got the clever title of Track 3.  You can then use the MP3 player on your computer, like iTunes, to actually play it.
And, if you enjoy listening to P'taah's wisdom, don't forget that you can subscribe to Conversations with P'taah or order past issues online.  The track titles are just the tip of the iceberg as to what's in each one.  There is an incredible wealth of information here just waiting for you to tap into it.
P'taah's message for February is about living consciously within society and how can we help change our world without getting caught up in the day-to-day dramas that surround us.
Happy Valentine's Day and much love to each and every one of you.
Namaste.
"P'taah:  So, my dear ones, what do we have this day of your time?
Q:    Well, I have one question that I would like to ask you about, P'taah, that you might talk about a little bit which is about the individual working within society. You've often said what other people do is not of my business but for some of us, we work in areas of trying to make the society function, as a cohesive whole where we are involved in making rules for other people. I wondered if you could talk a little bit about how best we can deal with the issues that come up in society, such as euthanasia, pedophilia, imprisoning people. You know, dealing with all the taboos within our society and trying to contain some of the chaos.
P'taah:  Indeed, all right. Let us say to begin with, we have never said to you what other people do is not your business, rather we have said is how people judge you are not your business. And this is in a very personal way, meaning that everybody looks at everybody else through the lens of their own judgments, fears, etc. and projects one's fears, or indeed one's desires or needs, onto somebody else.
However, indeed you do live in a society and indeed that society does have a collective consciousness. And of course there are situations where some kind of judgment or pronouncement is necessary for the good of that society.
As a rule of thumb we would say that as you are called as a society, as individuals making up a society, to make choices and decisions on behalf of other people, that which is to be held to the forefront of mind is simply what is for the greatest good of the society, bearing in mind that the greatest good includes the opportunity for individual freedom, for expansion, for opportunity for everybody to fulfill their own highest potential.
Now of course there are those situations where people who are, in a way, ill through fear, through conditioning, through mal-treatment, who in a way become predator, who prey upon the children or even those who are elderly or those who are helpless. And these perpetrators rather than being imprisoned, we would say, that the optimum would be for these ones to be treated for their malady. Imprisonment, in a way, does not heal the wounded heart, does not re-educate. However, of course, there are also those that you label sociopaths, who are truly a danger and must be, for the sake of society, put aside.
You see, you are indeed all sovereign individuals. You have created yourself into a human existence in society, and the human kind, in a way, requires the society, you understand? They require communion with their brothers and sisters. There have been those who have set forth, "If there are no laws, then indeed there is anarchy." Well, there is where people are governed by fear. As each of you grows and expands, as you come from a place of love, as you come from a desire for peace and harmony, and as you come from that place desiring, indeed, the opportunity for each to fulfill their own potential, then indeed that idea of anarchy does not exist.
All right, you may say, "Well, we have a long way to go," and yes you do, so we would say that, in a way, the duty of those of you on a spiritual path, those of you who are committed for their own expansion and indeed thusly being of service in the society, to bear in mind that as each of you have the opportunity to choose -- and in your system of government, you vote -- some of you listening to this also work in facilities which are assisting those of humankind who are indeed bereft, who are living in fear and who behave in a way that is dangerous for themselves and for their brothers and sisters in society.
We just remind you that the inherent quality of humankind is that yearning for love, for acceptance, for honor and respect; the yearning for companionship; the yearning to be all that you can be. Ful-fill-ment. And where that is not offered, where that is not part of the day-to-day life or the upbringing, then indeed the humanities become mal-functioning. So it is to hold this idea that those who behave, in a way that is undesirable to do so because, in a way, they cannot do any other way. They know not how and because they have not have the opportunity to find ful-fill-ment for themselves in a way that is beneficial, that is assisting in society, that is supporting the highest ideal of society. So, of course, you each have your grand individual power and as you use that individual power for the benefit of the society then you are truly being of service.
Q:  Could you go a little more into detail on what you mean by 'use your individual power'?
P'taah:  Well, you have your individual power in your day-to-day choices of how you will be, that is, how you will be in your life with the people you interact with, in your relationships, in your business, and for those of you on your journey and where you have your choice in how you will make your choices, how you will be in these day-to-day life. Then you have an opportunity perhaps to influence the laws of your country, to be a voice of reason, to be a voice of love and compassion. And that can be at a very local level or indeed, it can be at a national or international level, depending on what it is you desire.
But we would say, those of you also in, for instance, your penal system. There has been much perpetrated in these systems that have not been conducive to healing, where indeed there are those who abuse their power and not only in that which is called prison but also in, we would say, hospital facility where the care of those not able to care for themselves is open to abuse.
Q:  For that matter it even happens in schools.
P'taah:  Indeed it does, indeed it does.
Q:  The thing that I am finding hard to kind of get my mind around is, I used to work with a group that was trying to end hunger and then it occurred to me that, where you put your energy and focus your attention on, you're helping to have it continue. Perhaps there would be a better way I can do that. So how do you focus on changing something without actually feeding the fire of it and making it continue?
P'taah:  Well, we would say, really it is a matter of attitude and where you are coming from in your endeavors, because indeed there enough food to feed your entire planet and there are those who are committed to alleviate the suffering of people who are starving to death on your planet. And that is very wondrous.
Where the idea-construct and the passion is that of hope, of positive endeavor, and not that of rage and that of focusing on the lack, but rather focusing on the opportunity for abundance, then indeed the energy is changed. It is likened unto what we have spoken to you many times before about lack and abundance where you focus on the abundance, for instance to say, "My desire is to be in the experience of an exciting job rather than to be in the idea-construct, 'I hate this boring job and therefore will look for another.'"
P'taah:  You see? And so in a way the same principles apply on a grander scale where you are involved in sourcing the abundance of food to distribute around your world and where you are giving thanks for the abundance of food that you are distributing, then indeed it is not so fraught with the rage and the negativity about 'no food'.
Q:  Hmm, hmm, and you can even approach, for example, if you were in the U.S.A. and I suppose anywhere, we use to call our representative in congress and ask them to support measures that would make it possible for people especially in the third world countries to take care of themselves and grow the food that they need, instead of depending on, you know, the handout from the major powers but it's coming to that call with love and compassion rather than with anger at the way the world is. Am I hearing you correctly?
P'taah:  Indeed, this is correct.
Q:  Okay and then when you talk about prisons, though, I keep thinking that there we need to start is with the children because by the time a person is in prison and is a sociopath, it's too late.
P'taah:  Oh but indeed, beloved. However, there is much work occurring in the prisons of your world where people are endeavoring to re-educate. There is also much abuse in the prison system and so again it is likened unto every other aspect in life, as it is in the personal life, you enlarge that as it progresses outward. So it is that much is ruled by fear and pain and yet always the grander opportunity for love and compassion.
So, my beloved ones, we will stop here for this Now. We thank you for this wondrous opportunity to be in communication. Until our next Now together, with grandest love, we issue forth to each and every one of you,
Namaste."
P'taah
