Governor Hickenlooper Signs Film Incentives Bill

 

On Friday, May 18th Governor John Hickenlooper signed into law HB-1286, the "Film Production Activities in Colorado" bill. The milestone event took place at High Noon Entertainment with over 100 people attending to show their support.

 

The incentive bill features a 20% rebate on qualified local expenditures for film, television, commercials, games and other forms of content creation, as well as a loan guarantee program for films. A 50% local hire requirement is also in place. The minimum spend requirements will be $1 million for out of state productions and $100,000 for productions originating in Colorado.



Denver Comic Con: Video Game Panel June 17th

   

Comic Con is coming to Denver June 15-17 and The Office of Film, TV and Media will be hosting a video game developers panel the morning of June 17 at 10 a.m. The panelists will include Bryan Mashinter Head of Production at Backflip Studios, Brian Robbins President at Riptide Games, Peter Walters the former Animation Director at Idol Minds and moderator Micki Hackenberger of Axiom Strategies. Spruce Mountain is a film friendly guest ranch that spans over 1,000 acres. Spruce Mountain welcomes productions and has a lot to offer, including limited regulations on the use of the property.
