Incentive Legislation Update

   

After successfully passing out of the House Economic and Business Development Committee 9 to 3, and the House Finance Committee 8 to 5, the Film Incentives bill, HB1286, passed the Joint Budget Committee 5 to 1 last week,and will now be heard in the House Appropriations Committee. We are working with the bill sponsors (Representativess Massey and Ferrandino, and Senators Newell and White) and other key legislators as the budget process moves forward.



Creative Industries Summit Features Sessions for Filmmakers 


The Colorado Creative Industries Summit is coming up April 12-13 in beautiful Breckenridge. The event will provide inspiration, networking and learning opportunities for Colorado creatives. There are two sessions that will be of specific interest to filmmakers:

Film Finance
Donald Zuckerman will be talking to filmmakers who are interested in learning more about financing and packaging narrative films. Donald will explain the measures involved in budgeting an independent production to become a successful commercial film.

Approaches to Documentary Filmmaking
The presenters will discuss the different approaches one can take towards making a documentary film. Each presenter will discuss their documentary filmmaking style.
Colorado filmmakers: Mitch Dickman, donnie betts, Oscar-winner Daniel Junge and Lisa Hartman.

On Location: Lowell Ranch on Plum Creek    

 

The newest addition to our location database is Colorado Agricultural Leadership Foundation's Lowell Ranch on Plum Creek. Located in Douglas County, Lowell Ranch is a versatile 133-acre working ranch with the scenic East Plum Creek running the entire length of the property.  

 

 

 

The ranch provides historic as well as more contemporary ranch settings including a turn of the century large red barn, other farm implements, corrals, fields, pastures, creek and views of the mountains as well as grassland. The property provides a wide variety of scenery that can accommodate a broad range of settings. In addition, the Lowell Ranch has restroom and kitchen facilities to provide comfort for film crews.
