Creative Industries Summit Convenes Creatives
From Across the State April 12-13 in Breckenridge
Denver, CO (March 27, 2012) Colorado Creative Industries, a division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, announces the upcoming Creative Industries Summit: Cultivating Common Ground, April 12-13 in Breckenridge, Colorado. This first annual convening of artist-entrepreneurs, owners of creative sector businesses, nonprofit cultural workers and emerging creatives will feature two days of presentations, breakout sessions and workshops.

The first day opens with a keynote luncheon featuring Colorado's own Matt Morris, who collaborates with Justin Timberlake, Kelly Clarkson, and Beyonce. The day wraps up with an exclusive art walk in the Historic District. The second day features 13 professional development workshops and culminates with the Governor's Arts Award luncheon, with live music by Scott McCormick's new band, Lee Avenue. This year's Governor's Arts Award is shared by the Town of Carbondale and the City of Lafayette, and both mayors will be present to receive the award, a commissioned painting by Colorado artist John Lintott.
Registration for the Summit is now open and includes all meals and workshops. Early registration is $95 through April 6 and then increases to $105. Students with ID are $75. Attendees may also choose to attend the Governor's Arts Award Luncheon only for $30.
