On Location: Vagabond Ranch

Vagabond Ranch is located at 9200 feet in the Never Summer Mountains of Colorado. The 108 acre property is surrounded by the Arapahoe National Forest and adjacent to the Never Summer Wilderness. There are two log homes with running water and electricity and a variety of old log buildings with a colorful history, from trappers' and homesteaders' cabins to a summer camp bunkhouse. Up to 40 guests can stay on site.
In the summer, moose, elk, bear, fox, coyote, beaver, and more wildlife frequent the surrounding wetlands and wildflower strewn meadows. There is excellent mountain biking and hiking out the front door or we can drive people to Still Water Pass or Lost Lake trailheads, where less than a mile's walk affords a forested lake or views of Rocky Mountain National Park.
Wilderness, wildlife, mountain biking, hiking, nordic and backcountry skiing can be filmed on property with no need for a Forest Service permit. Winter access is by snow machine and snow fall depth averages 4-6 feet at the ranch and much more in the higher elevations around the ranch. Nordic trails and back country ski slopes are maintained on property. World class back country ski terrain is accessed on foot or by snow machine from the ranch.
Vagabond Ranch offers easy access to some of the most remote wilderness in the state of Colorado. Our dream is to build it into a back country ski and bike destination while honoring and protecting this wild and peaceful treasure. Contact Josh Weinstein, josh@vrhuts.com or 303.242.5338.
