Any filmmaker who is looking for a quiet 1890's backdrop in a remote setting should look no further than Victor, Colorado. Only a hour and a half drive to the Colorado Springs airport and quick turn-around times for securing permits, Victor is the ideal location.
Ruth Zalewski, Film, Television and Media Community Contact, and President of the Southern Teller County Focus Group, has this to say about Victor:
"Victor is a unique Western mining town with brick storefronts, historic mining structures, old west buildings and homes and lots of sunshine year round.Located in Teller county at nearly 10,000 feet above sea level, the small town of 450 residents offers a unique opportunity with a friendly disposition to the film industry"
On Saturday, May 28th, you can learn about Colorado's one-time largest producing underground gold mines, with a tour of the Ajax Mine. Admission is only $10. The event will be led by an Ajax Miner, Gary Horton, and Historian, Ed Hunter.
Visit www.victorcolorado.com for info and reservations, City Hall contacts, and nearby lodging.

Governor Hickenlooper Wants Your Input
|
Governor Hickenlooper and the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade want to engage Coloradoans in a statewide conversation about Economic Development. They are asking residents to share their stories, challenges, and strengths by developing a strategic economic development plan for their county. To do this work your input is needed. The Office of Film, Television and Media, a division of the Creative Industries, wants to make sure that your voice is heard. Please fill out the survey here. Something that hinders production all over the State is "red tape". The Governor also needs your input on specific issues you have come upon that have hurt your business or stymied production. Fill out the Red Tape Form here. |
