Denver, CO (November 15, 2010) - Colorado Creative Industries has scheduled a Listening Tour from December 2 through January 15 to gather final feedback before publishing the division's new strategic plan, and to provide training on the division's largest grant program, Colorado Creates.
The mission of Colorado Creative Industries (CCI) is to promote, support and expand the creative industries to drive Colorado's economy, grow jobs and enhance our quality of life. Artists, creative businesses, art organizations, educators and municipal leaders are encouraged to attend a Listening Tour session to learn more about CCI and provide feedback on CCI's new program priorities.
As part of the Listening Tour, CCI staff will also offer training on how to apply for a Colorado Creates grant. Colorado Creates is the division's largest grant program, providing critical financial support that helps nonprofit cultural organizations and government agencies produce and present arts and cultural activities, bringing jobs to their communities and enhancing the quality of life. In the current year, 141 grants were awarded totaling $1 million, reaching 34 counties across the state.
Guidelines for the 2011-12 Colorado Creates grant program will be available on the CCI website
www.coloarts.org in early December. The grant deadline is March 10, 2011 for activities taking place between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012.
