Feeling a little stressed with the start of school? You are invited to "Drop Off and Drop In" with local massage therapist Susan Young!!  Susan will be hosting a fundraiser for the PTA at Palm Crest next week on Monday, September 12 and Wednesday, September 14.  Drop off your student in the morning and then relax with a 10 minute massage for only $10.  Celebrate the beginning of the early bird/late bird schedule and support vital programs for our school:  Susan is donating 100% of the proceeds to PCR!!!  There are only 10 slots available each day from 8:20-10:10am.  Email Shelby Grey at shelbylodergrey@rocketmail.com for more information or to reserve your spot.  Places will be filled on a first come-first serve basis!

 

 

You only have a couple more days to complete the on-line only "one click order form"  (OCOF) to be  entered into a drawing to win an all-day Springamajig wristband for every child in your family!  The OCOF  is available at our website www.palmcrest.org.  Deadline for drawing is September 9. If you are experiencing difficulties in completing the OCOF, please contact Melissa Mazin at mfmazin@gmail.com.  

 

 

Attention 6th Grade Parents and any parent who loves to build things: The responsibility for Set and Prop Design/Building for the 6th Grade Play rotates each year between the 3 schools in the district, and this year it is PCR's turn!  There will be a meeting in the Conference Room attached to the PCR Multi Purpose Room on Thursday, September 15 from 8:15-9:15a.m.  for this year's 6th Grade Play "Dear Edwina Jr."! If you have any experience in set design for stage or film/TV, construction, painting, animation, art, or even would just like to help out by swinging a hammer, or maybe even have connections with sets that are already built or a prop house, then this meeting is for you! If you'd like to help design/build the sets and props but cannot make it to this meeting, please contact Tom Vacca at tvacca@lcusd.net.  Working on the 6th Grade play is a very fun process; it is truly a community event.

Discounted Disneyland Tickets

  

The LCHS Choral Music Department has obtained a limited number of discount tickets to the Disney Resort theme parks that can be used any day from now through December 22, 2011. These Park-Hopper tickets will allow you to visit both Disneyland and California Adventure on the same day, including weekends and the LCUSD days off.  At the Disney ticket booths, Park-Hopper tickets cost $105 for adults and $99 for children (ages 3-9). Our discount tickets are $86 each and can be used by adults or children. A family of four saves more than $60 on admission!   All proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit the LCHS Choral Music Department. Assistance League of Flintridge Offers Instrumental Music Instruction

    

Assistance League of Flintridge (ALF) brings the joy of playing a musical instrument into the lives of elementary school students. "Before" and "after" school classes will be taught by dedicated professional teachers. Instruction in string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments will be offered to PCR students enrolled in grades 4 through 6. There is a $95 annual program fee per student per class. Instrument rental is also available for a nominal fee.

TB Testing

 

If you plan to volunteer in the classroom, a current TB test must be on file in the school office.  Verdugo Hills Hospital offers complimentary TB testing to LCUSD parents. Dates for testing are September 13 & 20 from 10am - noon.  You will need to return 2 days later to have the test read.
