I hope you had a restful Labor Day weekend with your family.  

  

Thank you to the many families who have taken the time to complete the on-line only "one click order form."  (OCOF).  This form is available at our website www.palmcrest.org and is the only place you can order everything from school directories, yearbooks, panther wear, back to school picnic meals, join the PTA, donate to the school and so much more.   Unfortunately, the OCOF is not compatible with Firefox and Camino.  You will need to use Internet Explorer, Safari or Chrome to complete the form.  Every family that completes the OCOF by September 9, will be automatically entered into a drawing to win an all-day Springamajig wristband for every child in their family!  

 

Save the date for the very fun Back  to School picnic on Friday, September 16 at 5pm.  You can pre-purchase your meals on the OCOF or grab your own picnic to bring to the PCR playground.  The kids have a blast playing with their school friends. This is a great time for adults to reconnect with or make new PCR friends! Thanks to Helen Kerstein for coordinating the picnic.

 

Attention afternoon kinder parents:  Mrs. Salmi and Mrs. Senour are still in need of a room rep.  This is a very important volunteer job but doesn't require a lot of time! Please contact Barb Cabello at barbara.cabello@protiviti.com if you're interested.

 

The LCHS Choral Music Department has obtained a limited number of discount tickets to the Disney Resort theme parks that can be used any day from now through December 22, 2011. These Park-Hopper tickets will allow you to visit both Disneyland and California Adventure on the same day, including weekends and the LCUSD days off.  At the Disney ticket booths, Park-Hopper tickets cost $105 for adults and $99 for children (ages 3-9). Our discount tickets are $86 each and can be used by adults or children. A family of four saves more than $60 on admission!   All proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit the LCHS Choral Music Department. Assistance League of Flintridge Offers Instrumental Music Instruction

    

Assistance League of Flintridge (ALF) brings the joy of playing a musical instrument into the lives of elementary school students. "Before" and "after" school classes will be taught by dedicated professional teachers. Instruction in string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments will be offered to PCR students enrolled in grades 4 through 6. There is a $95 annual program fee per student per class. Instrument rental is also available for a nominal fee.

 

All registrations are done On-line. Additional information can be obtained on thewebsite www.ALFlintridge.org, by e-mailing ALFMusic@sbcglobal.net, or by calling the ALF Chapter House (818) 790-1328.  

 

The deadline for registration is September 9, 2011.




 

Parker Anderson After School Enrichment

TB Testing

 

If you plan to volunteer in the classroom, a current TB test must be on file in the school office.  Verdugo Hills Hospital offers complimentary TB testing to LCUSD parents. Dates for testing are September 13 & 20 from 10am - noon.  You will need to return 2 days later to have the test read.
