 Greetings!
More excellent news for the marina. As you all know we take our environmental obligations very seriously at Soldiers Point Marina. So it is an absolute thrill to announce that the Marina after a long accreditation process been recognised as the first marina on the east coast of Australia to achieve Level 4 ISO 14001 Clean Marinas Program status. This international environmental accreditation is another significant commitment by Soldiers Point Marina to be the very best in environmental practices. ISO 14001 is implemented by some 200,000 organisations in 161 countries, and we are proud to be one of them.
For more information on our achievement I urge you to visit our website at www.soldiersptmarina.com.au
April was as usual a busy month at the marina, firstly we hosted many of the boats in the Pacific Rim Yacht Challenge, we held a complimentary boat handling clinic for our valued customers, we hosted an Easter Day "Seafari –Music on the Water" and we sponsored the Sail Port Stephens Junior Regatta!

Marine Rescue Port Stephens Visits the Marina
We were delighted recently when the brand new rescue vessel, the 8.3 metre RHIB, Codi-K II berthed at the marina for an open day.
This is the second visit this year by a Marine Rescue vessel to Soldiers Point Marina. In January, Port Stephens unit brought their impressive 52 foot ex-RNLI rescue boat, Danial Thain. Whilst the Danial Thain is best suited to off-shore, deep water rescue and recovery work, the new Codi-K II will mainly be used for jobs within Port Stephens. She is a fast response vessel, being powered by two 200hp outboards, capable of pushing her to 40 knots.

Seafari – Music on the Water
Another relaxing Easter Day on the water at North Arm Cove was enjoyed by customers from the three local marinas, listening to local duo "Let the Mango".
Platters of beautiful fresh oysters and prawns were supplied by Holberts and the Easter bunny even supplied some eggs.
Soldiers Point Marina customers, Chris and Ros Coy on "Eliza" got into the spirit and took out first prize for the best dressed boat, only narrowly pipping Jack Gosling on "What Ever"

Sail Port Stephens
A record number of about 170 entries were received for this years Sail Port Stephens held traditionally in the last week of the Easter school holidays. Sadly many entries were reluctantly turned away as all marinas were full. Sail Port Stephens is one of the fastest growing regattas in Australia and is a real family event. A full week of fun on and off the water and organised by the Corlette Point Sailing Association was appreciated by all. A big congrats to all who were involved in the running of this fantastic event for Port Stephens. Soldiers Point Marina hosted the SB3 and the Elliott 7 classes as well as several of the bigger yachts.
A big congratulations to Soldiers Point Marina customer Aaron Terrey the new Elliott 7 Australian Champion who skippered "Seldon Deck Hardware".
