As the economy worsens, incidences of elder financial abuse are reportedly on the rise. Financial abuse can be very difficult to detect. Read further to become familiar with the signs that a loved one may be the victim of this kind of abuse.

 

Voluntary Registry for People with Disabilities and Special Needs in Westchester County

 

The goals of the Special Needs Registry are to maintain a voluntary registry of special needs residents who may require assistance in a disaster; assist local jurisdictions in response to emergencies by pre-identifying residents with special needs; and provide the option of pre-authorizing emergency response personnel.

 

Veterans Often Overlook Important Government Benefits

 

Many former members of the armed forces are unaware of benefits available to them through the Veterans Administration. The Aid and Attendance Improved Pension-which has been available for nearly 60 years-is a case in point. 

 

Organization Provides Online Support for LGBT Seniors

 

Seniors from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community encounter a unique set of challenges as they age. The National Resource Center on LGBT Aging has established an Internet-based resource center to address these challenges.
