CAMEO Metallographic Procedure for Case Depth Samples  

For accurate case depth determination, a sample must be given a finish free of large scratches. The "tried and true" metallographic procedure might include three or four grinding steps using silicon carbide abrasive discs, followed by one or two polishing steps. However, with LECO's CAMEO discs, this procedure takes only three steps--grinding, pre-polishing, and final polishing.

Join Us for a Training Class: Principles of Metallurgy and  Interpretation of Microstructures in Ferrous Alloys   

    

LECO TrainingA few spaces are still available for this three-day course, scheduled for November 13-15 at LECO's world headquarters in St. Joseph, Michigan.  The class covers basic metallurgy principles, binary phase diagrams, TTT diagrams, heat treatment of steel, inclusion classification, and microstructure identification. Participants should have a working knowledge of metallographic techniques.
