| 5th Annual Desert Home Care
Golf Tournament |
Please join us for a full day of fun Saturday, March 29 at the newly renovated RoadRunner Club or The Springs at Borrego. Get together a foursome and play 18 holes for a great cause.
Your participation will help Desert Home Care, a non-profit agency, provide in-home health services and will also support the operation of a new assisted-living facility in Borrego Springs. In home care services allow many of our citizens to remain in their own homes long after they otherwise would be forced into hospitals or convalescent care facilities. We can't think of a more worthy cause.
Golf will be topped off Saturday night with the presentation of awards at a scrumptious prime rib dinner at the RoadRunner Clubhouse, complete with silent and live auctions.
Give the gift of in-home care for the less fortunate by becoming a hole tee sponsor, deluxe sponsor, or corporate sponsor.
$100 Golf & Dinner $50 Dinner only
$250 Hole Sponsor $350 Deluxe Sponsor
$2000-1000-500 Corporate Sponsor
Your generosity will help support one of the most valuable charity agencies in our area. Call Desert Home Care, a division of the Borrego Medical Center, for more info at (760) 767-0041.

The Bloom is On! Wildflowers Erupt in the Anza-Borrego Desert |
|
|
The perennial question of will they bloom and when has been answered.... yes they will, and the time is now, through at least the first half of March and perhaps longer.
While it has not been an exceptionally wet winter, the rains have been spaced perfectly to foster the bloom. Just to name a few species, you can see Sand Verbena, Brown-Eyed Primrose, Spectacle Pods, Chicory, Forget Me Nots, Lupine, Desert Lilies, California Evening Primrose, Little Gold Poppy, Lavender, Desert and Dune Sunflowers, London Rockets, Phacelia, Dune Evening Primrose, Popcorn Flower, Filaree, and Desert Dandelions.
To help identify the different species, you can purchase a $1 colorful brochure at the Springs Pro Shop.
Great locations for viewing are Galleta Meadows at the west end of Henderson Canyon Road, the east end of Henderson Canyon Road near Peg Leg Monument, and the mouth of Coyote Canyon at the north end of DiGiorgio Road.

| Circle of Art Returns to Christmas Circle |
2008 Circle of Art Poster
On Saturday March 22 and Sunday, March 23, the 19th Annual Circle of Art will be on display at Christmas Circle. Free to the public, this amazing juried art show will feature nearly 70 accomplished fine artists and their work. In addition to oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, there will be exhibitions of sculpture, glass, photography, jewelry and pottery.
While many of the presenting artists specialize in desert-themed work, the exhibits are not limited to that genre, and the many displays will feature a wide variety of subjects and themes.
A number of food vendors will also be present, to make sure all you art lovers are properly nourished, including greek, mexican and asian cuisines, as well as coffee and desert (my favorite!)
The show will run 9 to 5 on Saturday, and 9 to 3:30 on Sunday. Check The Circle of Art website for more information.
