| Greetings!
October has arrived, and we all know what that means....that's right, it's Prime Time in Borrego! Cool nights, warm days, and a steady stream of snowbirds returning to town. The month is packed with activities and events, so read on to plan your next visit to The Springs. |
| Saltwater Pool a Big Hit |
Recently the Springs made a small upgrade that has both guests and management buzzing with positive comments. We decided to convert the mineral-water swimming pool to saltwater sanitation.
Saltwater pool sanitation was developed in Australia in the early 1970s, and remains the standard there and in many parts of Europe. Industry sources report that saltwater technology is now the fastest growing pool sanitation method in the United States. It works by filling the pool with salty water - like human tears - and then sending it through a small electronic device. The device produces a low-voltage electric current that adds or removes salt as needed. The ionized salt then reacts with the water to form hypochlorous acid, which kills any bacteria.
RV Guests at the Springs have been effusive with their praise of the new pool water. Nancy Nickols of Aguanga, a frequent visitor, said the water is easy on the eyes, skin and bathing suit. "Normally, just a short while in a pool will dry out my skin terribly. I can spend hours in this pool, and my skin feels great!"
Her husband Terry Nickols agreed. "Many times regular chlorine pools will really irritate my skin. I don't have that problem here, even though we've been in the pool a lot the last few days."
The Springs' new General Manager, Bob Cooper, says the new system is a win-win for the guests and the resort. "We made the switch to enhance the experience of our guests, but the silver lining is the cost savings. Chlorine pellets are pretty expensive these days, so we actually expect to save money on this system. It was not a major expense to install."
Currently, we're in the process of converting the mineral water spas to saltwater sanitation. Goodbye, dry skin, red eyes and faded bathing suits!

| Meet Ron Price,
Golf Superintendent |
The Springs at Borrego is absolutely thrilled to introduce to you all our new Golf Superintendent, Ron Price. Ron comes to us with a wealth of professional experience and a wonderful can-do attitude.
Originally from Redlands, California, Ron graduated from The College of the Desert in Palm Desert with a degree in Turf Management in 2001. He has worked in golf construction and maintenence for several great courses, including Bermuda Dunes and Indian Canyon in the Palm Springs area, Spurwing Country Club in Boise, and most recently Montesoro Golf and Social Club here in Borrego Springs.
While at Bermuda Dunes, Ron was part of the team that was responsible for the preparation and hosting for three consecutive Bob Hope Classic Golf Tournaments.
Ron and his crew do all the golf course and landscape maintenence for The Springs and our neighboring project, The RoadRunner Club. It's a big job maintaining 85 acres of turf, 27 greens, 3 putting greens and a full length driving range, but we've got the man for it!
Please join us in giving Ron a hearty welcome when you see him the next time you're at the Springs!
