Jane Velez-Mitchell - award winning television journalist and author; currently hosts Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell on HLN; has been an outspoken advocate for animals issues, including the BLM roundup of mustangs and factory farming. IN 2010, she interviewed Senator Tony Avella on the carriage horse issue. Harris Bloom - has graciously agreed to fill in for Maria Milito who has to work at NY1 on Monday night.An accountant by day, Bloom is a stand-up comedian/writer, who runs his own animal rescue We are lucky to get him at such short notice.
Senator Tony Avella - a strong supporter of a ban on horse-drawn carriages since he was in the City Council where he introduced the first ever bill to ban the carriage industry in 2007. He introduced a bill to ban horse-drawn carriages into the State Senate last May.
Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal - also a strong supporter of a ban on horse-drawn carriages. She introduced the companion bill into the NYS Assembly. Assemblymember Alec Brook-Krasny - a sponsor of the bill to ban horse-drawn carriages and believes that animals should be treated ethically and humanely. Assemblymember Deborah Glick - a sponsor of the bill to ban horse-drawn carriages and a long time animal advocate in the Assembly. Senator Eric Adams - a long time advocate for animal issues in the Senate Senator Liz Krueger - a cosponsor of the bill; long time advocate for animal and women's issues in the Senate.
Elizabeth Forel - president of the Coalition to Ban Horse-Drawn Carriages - will talk about the Coalition's long campaign to end this inhumane and unsafe business Donny Moss - independent film maker and director of the award winning documentary "Blinders: The Truth Behind the Tradition" about the NYC carriage horse trade. Peter Muller - president of League of Humane Voters and organizer of May 1st Lobby Day Susan Wagner - president of Equine Advocates - home to 80 rescued equines; activist against horse-slaughter and the inhumane carriage trade; co-rescuer of Bobby II Freedom, former NYC carriage horse
Joy Askew - a singer/songwriter, exceptional vocalist and instrumentalist who is also a tireless animal activist. She is someone you will never forget. Joy makes her return engagement to help the horses.
Brian Gari - a singer, composer, lyricist , author and long time supporter of a ban on horse-drawn carriages. Hear Brian sing his very moving song "Horse of a Different Color."
Deborah Thomas -a lyric soprano whose varied repertoire ranges from Opera and Operetta to classic Broadway. Deborah has performed in numerous NYC venues including Lincoln Center. SEE BELOW TO ORDER TICKETS

We will also be selling DVDs of Donny Moss' Blinders: the Truth Behind the Tradition, a documentary of the NYC carriage trade - and CDs of Brian Gari's Horse of A Different Color; plus CDs of Joy Askew and Deborah Thomas Cash or check only. We cannot except credit cards.
