Alastair Moock
Alastair Moock
In Music and Social Change, Alastair Moock introduces students to the music that shaped and connected three of America's most important movements for social change: the labor rights, the civil rights, and the anti-war movements of the 1960's and 1970's. In the Post-Performance Songwriting Workshop, he teaches students how to write their own songs.
Grades 3-12

Robin Pease  Limited 2011-2012 Availability!
Robin Pease
Native American Storytelling features Robin Pease, who is of Mohawk descent, drawing on her heritage as she takes you on a journey with Touch the Earth and/or Pushing Up the Sky. The program includes audience participation in the form of songs, language, dance, and games.
Grades K-12

In Recuerdo Ser Simpatico (Remember to be Nice) Robin Pease tells the story of a mean turtle who learns the value of friendship and remembers to be nice. During the program, students participate in Spanish language, song, and learn about animals and places in Costa Rica.

YAMA teaching artist Gideon Freudmann performs this summer!

Cellist Gideon Freudmann will be performing at the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton, MA on Thursday, August 11th at 7:00pm. The performance features banjo virtuoso Danny Barnes.

Gideon only spends a limited time performing in Massachusetts, so don't miss this opportunity to see him!
A busy summer for YAMA teaching artist Jeff Davis!

Musician Jeff Davis will be performing in the Champlain Valley Festival at the end of July and will then be celebrating his twenty-fifth year at the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival in Nova Scotia.

Jeff then returns to Norway for the third leg of his tour there to sing Appalachian folk music to middle school students.

YAMA storyteller Norah Dooley is the featured storyteller at the Boston Public Library branches for their Summer Reading Program!

Norah is also telling stories through the City of Boston's Storymobile, in which 12 storytellers tell stories at nearly 80 sites throughout Boston over the course of six weeks.
