State Partially Restores Cultural Funding
Thanks to an amendment authored by state Representative Sarah Peake of Provincetown, House Chair of the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts, and Cultural Development, the MA House voted to restore $1 million to arts and cultural funding through the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) in its proposed budget for the coming fiscal year.

The budget as proposed would still represent a cumulative 33 percent reduction of MCC's budget over three years. MA residents are urged to contact their state Senators and urge level funding for MCC in fiscal 2012 when they take on the budget debate later this month.
