Coloring Dear Friends,

We hope that your Halloween was filled with ghosties and ghoulies, lots of treats and hardly any tricks! After a busy September and a thrilling Fall Showcase, we are happy with the amount of artists we have already scheduled to come in to the schools. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it is hard to believe it is already November!

Classical Music programs are always popular with schools, and this month we have dedicated the e-newsletter to some of our wonderful music artists. North Winds, Cantabrigia, New England String Ensemble, and Infinities all bring amazing music experiences to students all over Massachusetts. Call to schedule them today!

North Winds
Have a Blast with Woodwinds!

North Winds' program, Wind Works, introduces students to the  unique instruments  of the woodwind family. Some of New England's top music professionals delight young audiences with an engaging mix of pieces from several countries and historical periods as they learn about the function of each instrument, how each instrument produces sound, and concepts of music such as melody, accompaniment, and style. Finally, some lucky volunteers will join North Winds onstage for an exciting rendition on "Ragtime Dance" by the legendary Scott Joplin!

North Winds

North Winds ensemble members are regular performers with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Lyric Opera, and the Boston Ballet, and have performed in schools across Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

New England String Ensemble
String Fever

Introduce your students to stringed instruments  by  the bringing four members of the esteemed New England String Ensemble to your school. Students will embark on a musical journey entwined with melodies and harmonies demonstrating how music connects with various subject matters. As they listen to pieces such as Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Copland's Rodeo, and the  theme to Harry Potter, they will learn how music is a means of expression and imagination.

With soaring artistic acclaim and award-winning educational programs, the New England String Ensemble is rapidly gaining national recognition as one of Greater Boston's treasures. Performing music from the 1600's to the present, the orchestra has become known for its vibrant and compelling performances and its innovative community programs. It has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and from the Koussevitsky Foundation of the Library of Congress. The Boston Globe has three times selected its concerts as among the best musical events of the year.

Cantabrigia's programs include a rich brass repertoire that spans four centuries that introduces students to the brass family of instruments, the basics of music, early and contemporary jazz, and how music expresses emotion. To top it all off, these amazing musicians also perform a piece on garden hoses!
