aquatics position

Theresa Banks Memorial Aquatics Center in Glenarden is ready to re-open in summer 2012! This facility is currently seeking applicants to fill a variety of aquatics positions. Candidates must apply via NEOGOV by February 8. There will a "Meet and Greet" with facility staff to discuss training and employment opportunities on January 31 from 5-8 pm and February 4 from 2-5 pm at Glenarden Community Center. Learn more.

Get in great shape in time for your wedding day

Calling all brides! Are you looking to lose those excess pounds before your big day? Glenarden Community Center is now offering a bridal bootcamp course that will help you lose weight and feel great in your gown. Make your dreams come true with Mis Quince Años

Young ladies ages 13-15 are invited to sign up for the Mis Quince Años program! Participate in workshops and a service learning project, and prepare for a magnificent Quinceañera celebration in the spring. Classes begin February 27 and meet at Langley Park Community Center. Help celebrate Prince George's County's centenarians

The Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George's County is collecting information about county residents who are ages 90 & older. Special recognition will be given to centenarians - residents 100 years old & older - at the Centenarian Event in the spring. If you know a county resident who is 90 years old or older (turned age 90 in year 2011 or before), please share the information with us no later than February 27, 2012. Read more.

The Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital and the National Capital Area Council of Boy Scouts of America have utilized Department of Parks and Recreation facilities as meeting locations and program sites for many years. Recently, they have begun providing "samplers" of their programming during select programs and activities throughout the Department.
