 | Get ready to register
| Registration for fall recreation classes, programs and activities begins today at 7 am for Prince George's residents, and on Monday, August 22 for all others. Read through the fall Guide and explore the opportunities available to you and your family. |
 | Positive Pathways registration
|
 If you're between the ages of 10 and 13 and want to take great steps in your quest for a bright future, consider joining the Positive Pathways program. This exciting, co-ed, 10-week program supports positive personal growth and promotes greater self-confidence through fun, recreational and educational activities. The program is FREE and registration begins Monday, August 15. Click here for more information.

 | Building Blocks
| The Building Block Training Program, for youth ages 13 -17, is designed to help teens venture into the world of volunteering and future employment. This program features four "blocks" focused on the meaning of service to the community, recognizing and sharing personal skills and strengths, working as a member of a team and understanding the keys to successful employment. Sessions will be held Wednesdays, from 7-9 pm, beginning October 5. Registration is required and sessions are limited to 30 people each. For more information or to register, click here.

 | Night at the museum | Enjoy an evening at the movies along with fun, hands-on activities inside College Park Aviation Museum! Join us Friday, August 19; museum doors open at 7 pm, and the movie, How to Train Your Dragon, starts at 9 pm. Popcorn and sno-cones will be served throughout the evening.  | Make 'em bow-wow happy
| People enjoy the pleasure of swimming during the summer, now your doggie friends can swim, too! Join us Tuesday, September 6 from 6-8 pm at Ellen Linson Pool Complex for our annual doggie dive-in! Every owner must provide proof of doggie's vaccinations. There is also a fee of $4 per doggie. Learn more.

 | Montpelier Fall Jazz Series
|
 Begin the fall season with the Montpelier Fall Jazz Series! Musicians including Wycliffe Gordon, Warren Wolf, Trio Caliente and many more will grace Montpelier Arts Center's stage. Davey Yarborough and Esther Williams open the series on Friday, September 9. Don't wait until then to buy your tickets. These shows can sell out. Series tickets ($125 for all 7 concerts) go on sale August 16 at 8:30 am. Individual concert tickets ($20 per concert) will go on sale Tuesday, August 23. For more information, click here.

 | All aboard for Broadway!
|  Sign up for a trip to New York to see The Mountaintop, a new Broadway play at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. The show, starring Samuel L. Jackson and Angela Bassett, tells a gripping story of events that took place the night before the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scheduled for Sunday, September 25, the trip includes brunch at Angus McIndoe Restaurant before the show. Fee includes transportation, tickets (matinee performance) and brunch. Dinner is on your own. Read more and sign up! |
