New Planning Board members appointed
planning board members new 2011 On Tuesday, July 12, the Prince George's County Council unanimously confirmed the nomination of Elizabeth M. Hewlett for appointment to the position of Chairman of the Prince George's County Planning Board and a member of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, and the nominations of Dorothy F. Bailey and A. Shuanise Washington to serve as members of the Planning Board and the Commission. Read more.
Seeking National Public Lands Day volunteers
teen volunteers National Public Lands Day, September 24, 2011, is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance public lands Americans enjoy. M-NCPPC is seeking wonderful, dedicated people willing to volunteer some time and join staff to participate in any of several service activities in Prince George's County. cosco regional park Looking for a great place to take the family and visitors? Cosca Regional Park (Clinton) offers something for everyone! Take a ride on the tram train, rent a paddleboat and explore the lake, enjoy a bite at the snack bar, play on the playgrounds, and be sure to visit Clearwater Nature Center.  Read more.
Looking for delicious fresh fruits and vegetables?
vegetables Several sites throughout Prince George's County operate farmers markets, featuring delicious, fresh fruits and vegetables. College Park Farmers Market, located at the Wells-Linson Complex is open on Saturdays through November 19 from 7 am- 12 noon. concert Live, evening musical performances will be held outdoors this week at Bladensburg Waterfront Park, Watkins Regional Park, Riversdale House Museum, Oxon Hill Manor and Montpelier Mansion (grounds). Prince George's County seniors are very special
senior lifting weights It's Senior Day at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex (Landover) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 8 am-12 noon. Prince George's County residents ages 60 & better may use the fitness center and the swimming pool for FREE during these times. Stop by, stay cool, get fit and socialize.
