 | Senior Health and Fitness Day | Not always easy to keep up with issues that affect your health and fitness? Have no fear - Senior Health and Fitness Day is here! Bring a friend on Wednesday, May 25 from 8 am - 1 pm to the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex (8001 Sheriff Road, Landover, 20785). Enjoy FREE, fun, healthy activities, programs and exhibits for those ages 60 and better. Activities include Tai Chi, weight training, aquatics activities, self-defense, ZUMBA gold, chair yoga, massage therapy, line dancing and much more!  | Rolling on the River

 Come big, come small! Come one, come all! Join us Saturday, May 28, from 9 am to 3 pm at Bladensburg Waterfront Park (4601 Annapolis Road, Bladensburg, 20710) for lots of fun on the Anacostia River. Enjoy games, giveaways, and refreshments; begin to master the art of fishing; learn to canoe. All necessary materials will be provided. Admission is FREE; all ages are welcome.  | Xtreme Teens BBQ Grill Off
| School is almost over! Do you need to get away from your school work for the weekend? Join us Friday, June 3, from 7 - 10 pm at Watkins Regional Park (301 Watkins Park Drive, Upper Marlboro, 20774) for lots of fun! Enjoy laser tag, live entertainment, a DJ, kickball, video tournaments, free food (while supplies last) and compete for cash prizes. Admission is FREE; attendees must be between the ages of 12-17.  | Mmmmm... can you smell what's cooking?
| Who doesn't love a day filled with family fun, great food and live blues entertainment!? On Saturday, June 4, from 12 noon - 5 pm come check out our Beltway BBQ showdown at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro. The Showdown will highlight the art of barbequing in Prince George's County. Winners will advance to the Kansas City Barbeque Society National Championship. Come meet a few East coast BBQ competitors, vote in the "people's choice" sauce contest and then you may purchase and taste samples of top quality BBQ from some of the competitors. Enjoy an exciting interactive children's play area, games and a moon bounce. Admission is FREE; nominal fees charged for some activities and merchandise vending.  | Hot Wheels
| Have any old bikes or bike parts lying around? On Saturday June 4 from 9 am - 1 pm the Department of Parks and Recreation will be collecting bicycles and bicycle parts, in any condition, for Bikes for the World (BfW). The six sites located throughout the county where you can donate items are Vansville Community Center, Bladensburg Waterfront Park, Bowie Baysox Stadium, Glenn Dale Community Center/Splash Park, Prince George's County Convenience Center on Missouri Avenue in Brandywine, and the National Harbor. BfW accepts, repairs, refurbishes, and ships bikes at low cost to community development programs assisting the poor in developing countries or in the Washington DC metropolitan area.  | Heritage Bike Rally
|
 Celebrate National Trails Day with an exploration of the Heritage Area on Saturday, June 4, from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm. There is something for everyone! A "trike" ride for the youngest heritage travelers will loop around Lake Artemesia. A longer route is designed for young adults, who will ride through College Park and University of Maryland. An adult ride will explore the early history of the region, and an "advanced" rider program (approximately 35 miles) will take riders beyond the ATHA borders. College Park Aviation Museum and College Park Farmers Market will also be open for participants to visit. The ride will originate from the former 94th Aero Squadron parking lot (5240 Paint Branch Parkway, College Park, 20742). For more information, registration and bike rental reservations click here. Bike rentals will NOT be available on site. T-shirt, breakfast and a BBQ lunch will be provided as part of the registration fee.

 | Don't forget FREE fitness programs this month |
 Eat well, exercise regularly and maintain a healthy lifestyle. In celebration of 2011 National Fitness Month, the Department of Parks and Recreation invites Prince George's County families to take part in FREE fitness activities throughout May. Fitness activities will be hosted at M-NCPPC parks and recreation venues throughout the county. Activities offered include scenic walks, a Double-Dutch clinic, strength training, ZUMBA, kayaking, and health screenings.
