The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission has lots for everyone to enjoy here in Prince George's County. Experience history at the Surratt House Museum and the 19th annual Multi-Period Living History Encampment. Attend a health fair, a Mother Goose tea, and The Montpelier Festival of Herbs, Tea and the Arts. Enjoy some quality family time playing golf at Henson Creek Golf Course. | The Surratt House Museum and The Conspirators
| The Conspirator, a new film directed by Robert Redford, will be opening in theaters nationwide starting April 15. The movie focuses on the trial of Mary Surratt, who was convicted of conspiring with John Wilkes Booth, President Abraham Lincoln's assassin. After you see the film, save your ticket stub, bring it to the Surratt House Museum and receive a FREE tour of the museum - one FREE tour per theater ticket stub - good through December 1, 2011. Learn some fascinating history and find out how this local woman and her farmhouse are infamously connected to the Lincoln assassination. Read more about this unique historic site in Clinton here.

| Focus on total body health
| Fairland Sports and Aquatics Complex in Laurel is hosting a FREE Community Interactive Health Fair on Saturday, April 16, from 10 am-2 pm. Come ready to participate in FREE health screenings, triathlon and walk/run training, fitness programs, tennis, swimming (bring your swim suit), classes, children's activities and more. People of all ages will have fun and learn how to improve their overall health. This health fair is sponsored by M-NCPPC and the Montgomery County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. | It's just about time for history to come to life
| Marching Thru Time, the 19th annual Multi-Period Living History Encampment, will be held on the grounds of Marietta House Museum (Glenn Dale) on Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 from 11 am-5 pm each day. This FREE event features re-enactors from 1st c. Romans through 20th c. World War II, period merchants and a food vendor. FREE parking is available at Glenn Dale Community Center, with continuous shuttle service to the event. For more information call 301-464-5291. |
| Family Time Golf Special at Henson Creek Golf Course
| What can make quality family time even better? Mix it with fun, healthy recreation and a special discount! Henson Creek Golf Course (Fort Washington) is introducing its 2011 Family Golf Time Special. Beginning Saturday, April 16, after 1 pm on Saturdays, and after 4 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, greens fees for junior golfers (ages 7-17) are only $5 when accompanied by a paying adult golfer age 18+. What a great way for family members of all ages to enjoy a terrific game, a great course, and fun times! (Please note: holiday dates are excluded from this special rate.) | A special event for fairy tale fans
| Children ages 6 & up are invited to Darnall's Chance House Museum in Upper Marlboro for a Mother Goose Tea on Saturday, April 16 at 2 pm. The program will feature characters from children's nursery rhymes, flavored teas, delicious desserts, and nursery rhyme-inspired fun! Children must be accompanied by a paying adult.v Fees are $12/resident and $15/non-resident. You must register for this program via SMARTlink (Activity #435864). | Herbs, tea, the arts and more

The Montpelier Festival of Herbs, Tea and the Arts, on the beautiful grounds of Montpelier Mansion and Arts Center in Laurel, takes place on Saturday, April 30 from 10 am-4 pm. Admission is FREE. This year's theme is "teas of the world." Vendors with crafts, gourmet food, garden accessories, herbs and plants will be there. Enjoy workshops, lectures and live entertainment including an authentic Chinese lion dance, an African choir, Indian dance and more. Mansion tours, open art studios, tea in the mansion, a "teas of the world" tea tasting and hands-on art and history activities for all ages will also be held. There'll be talks and demos on silhouette making, vegetable gardening, herbal skin care, kite making, basket making and more. Festival sponsors include the Friends of Montpelier, Anacostia Trails Heritage Area, and Grand Rental Events. For more information, call 301-377-7817.
