coupleThe Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex is hosting a Valentine's Day Mix & Mingle on Monday, February 14, from 6-9 pm for adults ages 21 & up. Enjoy food, fun, music and dancing. Take the opportunity to network and socialize with other single friends and family in the cozy Betty's Place Caf�. The fee is $10/person. For more information call staff at 301-583-2582.

gemsSouthern Maryland Rock and Mineral Club's 21st Annual Mineral, Jewelry & Fossil Show will be held at The Show Place Arena (Upper Marlboro) on Saturday, February 19 from 10 am-5 pm. The show includes vendors with minerals, original jewelry, and fossils.  There will also be demonstrations, exhibits, door prizes, and crafts for kids. Admission is $3/person; children ages 6 & under will be admitted FREE. For more information call 301-297-4575.

sankofaExperience the true essence of stepping at the Sankofa High School Step Show! The show will be held at Bowie Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, February 19 from 7-10 pm. The competition's theme, "Reaching Back 2 Pull Forward," is derived from the Akan word sankofa from Ghana, meaning, "To go back and take".  Teams will showcase skills and reverence for the history of step in the African American community. Ticket prices are $2/person for those ages 12 & under and $8/person for all others. Call 301-464-1737 for more information.

Youth ages 10-17 are cordially invited to enjoy the FREE Racing Thru the Ages program and Sandlot Baseball Exhibit at Peppermill Community Center on Saturday, February 26 from 6-8:30 pm. Members of community center race teams will compete in a live Pinewood Derby Miniature Car Race. Everyone can compete in the PS3 "Need for Speed" Challenge, have a photo taken with the Soap Box Derby car, see the Sandlot Baseball Exhibit and enjoy the caf�.  For more information call 301-350-8410.
