The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission has lots for everyone to enjoy here in Prince George's County. Live more, play more at the park and recreation facilities in your community. Caf� Groove is heading to North Brentwood. January is a great month for swimming. College Park Aviation Museum is having a very special program this week. Have you ever ice skated in pajamas?  | Seniors, focus on fitness in 2011 more | Bi-county residents ages 60 & better can sign up for a FREE SMARTlink account and a FREE community center/fitness room ID card.  | Attend Caf� Groove programs more | North Brentwood Community Center is hosting a great Caf� Groove program on Friday, January 7. Youth ages 12-18 are invited to attend the "Poetry and Open-Mic Showcase" program where YOU are the star! Enjoy poetry, dance, comedy, an open mic, and visual arts contests with cash prizes. The admission fee ($3/person) includes refreshments. Doors open at 7 pm and the performance begin at 7:30 pm. For more information call 301-446-3244. |
 | Swim more | Make a splash, swim some laps, or learn about water safety. M-NCPPC offers both summertime and year-round swimming opportunities throughout Prince George's County. Find out about swimming lessons for children and adults, water aerobics, aqua arthritis, lifeguarding and aquatic safety classes, and more.  | Cover, pass, hit, block and set more | An 8-session volleyball class for youth ages 8-14 begins Saturday, January 8 at Largo/Kettering/Perrywood Community Center. Enjoy this popular, international sport and learn the rules and basic skills needed to play the game. Practice covering, passing, hitting, blocking and setting.  Before Wilbur and Orville Wright built or flew an airplane, they learned about the science that makes flying possible. Join Mad Science of Washington DC for an exciting, interactive program about science at College Park Aviation Museum on Saturday, January 8. Show times are 11 am and 1 pm and the $5 admission fee covers both the show and museum admission. Tickets are available for purchase the day of the show. For information call 301-864-6029.

 Put on your pajamas and come out to Wells Ice Rink (College Park) for a special "Pajama Night" program on Saturday, January 8 from 8-10 pm! Enjoy ice skating - in your pajamas - to music mixed by DJ Clint, as well as popcorn, hot chocolate, disco lights, an outdoor fireplace and a bonfire! The special $4 admission fee for those in pajamas even includes skate rental! For more information about this fun event for people of all ages, call staff at 301-277-3717.

Parents are invited to attend the free 2011 Fashion Boot Camp Interest Meeting on Sunday, January 9 at Lake Arbor Community Center (Mitchellville) at 3 pm.
