The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission has lots for everyone to enjoy here in Prince George's County. Enjoy two holiday light displays, a gingerbread house show, holiday open houses, an elegant tea, and a special visit with Santa. Explore the park system and enjoy the social, healthy, fun recreation programs and activities.

| Drive through a spectacular light display more | The 24th Annual Winter Festival of Lights in Prince George's County is open from 5-9:30 pm nightly through Sunday, January 2, 2011. This beautiful holiday drive-through event features more than a million twinkling lights throughout Watkins Regional Park on holiday displays. Admission fees are $5/car or van, $15/mini-bus or limo, $25/bus and $10 for a multi-visit, transferable pass for cars and vans that's good for 3 visits. | See the Festival of Lights a little differently more | Take a hayride through the Festival of Lights at Watkins Regional Park! Select from the following dates: Fridays & Saturdays, December 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 & 18; Sunday, December 26; and Saturday, January 1. The hay rides begin at 7 pm and the fee is $5/person. Guests will also stop by Watkins Nature Center to warm up by the campfire and enjoy refreshments. Space is limited on the hay wagon so reservations are required. | Walk through a spectacular light display more
| Enjoy another beautiful holiday treat. The Garden of Lights Winter Garden Walk at Brookside Gardens (Silver Spring) features nearly a million twinkling, colorful lights shaped in imaginative displays throughout the gardens. Walk along the paths and see hundreds of wrapped trees and shrubs, beautifully lighted gazebos, cascading fountains, and individually formed displays in the shapes of blooming flowers and wild animals. | Admire creative, sweet treats more
| The 11th Annual Gingerbread House Contest and Show at Darnall's Chance House Museum is open for public viewing Thursday-Sunday, December 2-5 & Thursday-Sunday, December 9-12, from 12 noon-5 pm. Come see an amazing display of edible gingerbread houses and vote for the Viewer's Choice Award Competition. No reservations are needed and the fee is only $1/person. | Attend a holiday open house more
| Billingsley House Museum, an historic home on 430 acres overlooking the scenic Patuxent River, is hosting holiday open houses on Fridays December 3, 10 & 17 between 9 am and 3 pm. | Visit with Santa more
| On Saturday, December 4, Santa will be flying into College Park Airport. Join us at College Park Aviation Museum for the Santa Fly-In from 12 noon-4 pm. Have your picture taken with Santa and enjoy holiday arts and crafts in the museum. It's all free with regular admission fee: $4/adults, $3/seniors, $2/ages 2-18, FREE/children under 2. | Enjoy a spot of tea more
| Add a little elegance to your holiday season. Snow Hill Manor, an historic home in Laurel built in 1755, is hosting a special holiday event, A Spot of Tea, on Sunday, December 5 from 3-5 pm.
