The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning
Commission has lots for everyone to enjoy here in Prince George's County. Live
more, play more at the park and recreation facilities in your community. Enroll
your child in a Kids' Care program. Enjoy a show at the Publick Playhouse.
Dance, exercise and make plans to attend a festival and an exhibit. Make
September a spectacular month! Explore the park system and enjoy the social,

after school more
| Looking for a structured after-school program for your child? Hillcrest Height Community Center's
Kids' Care Program features activities in the areas of sports, arts and
crafts, reading, storytelling, music, science, nature, special events and more.
A shuttle picks up students from Hillcrest Heights and Panorama Elementary
Schools. Prince George's County residents who are enrolled in kindergarten
through grade 6 and are between the ages of 5 and 12 (must be age 5 by August
31, 2010) are eligible to enroll. This program operates in conjunction with the Prince
George's County Public Schools' calendar; when county schools are closed
for full days, Kids' Care is also closed. For more information please call

Zumba

| It's true; fitness can be fun! Zumba
is a fusion of Latin and international music and dance themes that creates a
dynamic, exciting workout. Zumba classes for adults ages 18 & up begin at
Largo/Kettering/Perrywood Community Center on Monday, September 13. Fees for
the 12-class session that meets on Mondays and Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 pm are
$72/resident and $86/non-resident. Register for SMARTlink course # 306814. If
you'd like to drop in for some sessions, but not attend all sessions, the
drop-in fee is $6/class. For information call 301-390-8390. Zumba classes for
those ages 16 & up are also being offered at Langley Park Community Center.
Join this 16-session (8 weeks) class that begins on September 13. The class (#277665) meets
Mondays & Wednesdays from 7-8 pm. Fees are $72/resident and

Clean out your closets, basements and attics and you just may make some
money. Oxon Hill Manor is hosting a Community Yard Sale on Saturday, September
18. If you're interested in selling your wares, you may purchase a space for
$10 (single or multiple). Vendors must bring their own tables and chairs, and
food may not be sold. Setup begins at 7 am for vendors. Shoppers may stop by
anytime between 8 am and 1 pm. Reserve your space now; please call staff at

Home Is
Where the Heart Is, an original story, focuses on the Anderson Family
and the strength that comes from the love they share for each other and their
home. After years of moving away from each other to pursue their careers and
their own lives, three siblings reunite when they return home together. This
play is a joint presentation by the Prince George's Sports & Learning
Complex and the Publick Playhouse. Two performances will be held on Saturday,
September 18 at the Publick Playhouse - a 2 pm show and an 8 pm show. For

| The 29th Festival Hispano will be held at Lane Manor Park in
Adelphi on Sunday, September 19 from 12 noon-6 pm. Bring the family and
celebrate the rich heritage of the Hispanic communities. Carnival games, a pet farm, pony
rides, arts & crafts, music, entertainment, displays and exhibits will be

| As part of the Smithsonian Institution's "Museums on Main
Street" initiative, Montpelier Mansion will be home to Between Fences, a traveling exhibit that
tells the stories of fences and barriers across the United States. Barriers and Gateways: The Immigrant
Experience is a companion exhibit that will also be on display. These exhibits
will be at Montpelier Mansion from September 20-November 7. FREE events will be
held throughout the exhibition, hosted by Montpelier and its many community
partners for Between Fences. See a play, enjoy children's
programs, enjoy a "dinner and a movie" night, join a book club, attend lectures
and more,
all related to the

Dance

| Spend an evening dancing, socializing, and having plenty of fun!
Hillcrest Heights Community Center is hosting a Hand Dance Social on Saturday,
September 25 from 8 pm-12 midnight. This event is for adults ages 18 & up. Refreshments
will be served. Tickets are $8/person for residents, $10/person for non-residents,
$12 per couple (who are residents), and $14 per couple (who are non-residents).
