Summer Guide 2010 CoverThe Summer 2010 edition of Your Guide to Parks and Recreation Classes, Programs and Events is now available at M-NCPPC facilities and public libraries countywide. You can view the great lineup of exciting classes, activities and events online through SMARTlink. Explore classes and programs in areas including aquatics, computer skills, crafts & hobbies, fitness & health, lifestyle & learning, martial arts, nature, performing arts, sports, travel, visual arts and more.  Registration begins Monday, May 10 for Prince George's County residents and Monday, May 17 for all others.

SeussicalThe Cheverly Young Actors Guild presents Seussical at the Publick Playhouse on Thursday & Friday, May 13 & 14 at 7:30 pm, on Saturday, May 15 at 2 pm & 7:30 pm, and on Sunday, May 16 at 2 pm & 6:30 pm. Talented young actors, singers and dancers perform this musical that features an elaborate set and costumes. The Cat in the Hat is the host, emcee, and all-around mischief maker in this romp through Seuss classics. People of all ages will enjoy the show. For ticket information, call 301-277-1710.

runners raceThe Riverfront Revolution 10K, 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run, and Health & Wellnessfest at National Harbor will be held on Saturday, May 15. The course has been designed to be challenging, as well as fun and entertaining. You'll go through the grounds of the National Harbor Waterfront and the wonderful environs of the surrounding area. animalsA-MAY-zing Animal Fest will put a smile on everyone's face. Enjoy this family, fun-filled event featuring birds of prey, reptiles, farm animals, a puppet show, food vendors, arts & crafts, and more. The fun takes place on Saturday, May 15 from 12 noon-4 pm at Bladensburg Waterfront Park. Admission is FREE; nominal fees will be charged for food. For additional information call 301-779-0371.

festival of nations african americanFeel like a world traveler when you come to the Festival of Nations on Sunday, May 16 from 12 noon-5 pm. Five different cultures from around the world will be represented through foods, crafts, customs and traditions that form the mosaic of our U.S.A. culture. Tucker Road Athletic Complex (1771 Tucker Rd., Fort Washington 20744) is the site for this family festival that features great entertainment, food vendors, displays, exhibits, crafts for sale, and an exciting children's area with games. senior health fitness day ladiesSenior Health & Fitness Day is just around the corner.  Seniors ages 60 & better are cordially invited to attend this FREE event on Wednesday, May 26 from 8 am-1 pm at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex. Admission, parking, activities and screenings are FREE! Participate in tai chi, line and hand dance, chair exercise, walking, aquatics activities, self-defense, educational sessions, games, health screenings and more.
