The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission has lots for everyone to enjoy here in Prince George's County. Live more, play more at the park and recreation facilities in your community. Sign up to volunteer at a spring or summer program. Audition for a new broadcasting or videography opportunity. Attend a dance performance, or sign up for a trip or a Hat and Tea Social. Explore the park system and enjoy the social, healthy, fun recreation programs and activities.

Watch for the new slogan on television; you just may see yourself or your neighbors on these lively ads that feature some of the great customers of M-NCPPC parks and places throughout Prince George's County.
Volunteer more
teen volunteers Are you planning your summer? Volunteer recruitment for summer programs - including day camps, playgrounds and aquatic positions - will be posted on March 1 at www.pgparks.com. The minimum age for playground volunteers is 14; the minimum age for day camp volunteers is 15. Volunteers must be the minimum age(s) by June 1, 2010. Volunteers are also needed for spring special events/one day events. It's easy to register to volunteer; log on to www.pgparks.com, click on volunteers and follow the instructions. Dabble in videography/broadcasting more 
videographerHuntington Community Center is looking for young ladies and gentlemen interested in auditioning to be volunteer hosts/hostesses, videographers, and video editors for a new Xtreme Teens Video Entertainment Show. Males and females ages 10-17 who have clear speaking voices and outgoing personalities are encouraged to audition at the center on Friday, March 5 between 6 pm and 8 pm for the volunteer show host openings. Those with experience as camera persons and/or video editors should come in on Friday, March 5 between 8 and 9:30 pm for an interview. Youth selected to fill these volunteer positions will earn service learning hours, receive a letter of recommendation, gain terrific experience and have plenty to put on a résumé. Cafe Groove logo The Prince George's Publick Playhouse is hosting Café' Groove featuring teen dance talent with the Prince George's Best Dance Crew Competition on Friday March 5, from 7-10 pm. Tickets are $3 at the door; the event is for youth ages 12-18. For information about attending or competing call 301-446-3232. The Love 2 Dance Teen Showcase will be held at the Playhouse on Sunday, March 7 at 4 pm. See lively, fast-paced, dance performances by the best young dance troupes from Prince George's County schools and dance studios. Tickets are only $10/person; $5/seniors & students. child artist College Park Aviation Museum is having an art contest for students in grades K-12 and college. Create an original piece of art inspired from an aviation quote. Entries must be original pieces of artwork. All forms of artwork will be accepted, including collages, sculptures, mobiles, photos, drawings, paintings, graphic art pieces, prints, and mixed media works.
