What is It?
gadgets Montpelier Mansion is home to a very special What is It? exhibit throughout November. Stop by any day between 11 am and 4 pm to see all sorts of gizmos, gadgets, thingamajigs and whatchamacallits. Your job is to figure out, "what is it?"  Parents and grandparents may see things they've long since forgotten or scratch their heads in puzzlement at something their kids know all about!  Children will gain a whole new appreciation for iPods and laptops after seeing 8-track cassette players and typewriters! People of all ages are welcome to come see this FREE exhibit. For more information call 301-377-7817.
Help fight homelessness
teens and jeans November 15-21 is "National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week," and you can help others through Teens & Jeans, a campaign empowering youth to take action against homelessness. Teens, start collecting clean, gently worn jeans (all sizes) now for donation to a local homeless shelter. Then on Saturday, November 21, attend the FREE Teens & Jeans for the Homeless 2-Mile Walk-A-Thon (rain or shine) at Lake Artemesia and bring the jeans you've collected with you. Walk registration begins at 8 am, and the walk starts at 9 am. After the walk, enjoy live performances. Can't attend the walk?  Just drop off the jeans at any M-NCPPC community center  by Friday, November 20.  For more information, call 301-894-6616. In conjunction with this effort, the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex is hosting Teens & Jeans Fun Night on Friday, November 20, from 7-10 pm.
