"Sephardic Journeys," a special night of music...
This salon-concert offers a wonderful mix of performance, stories, demonstration, and a chance to interact with our guest artists in this year's Christmas Revels. Bringing a vibrant past into the present, musicians Howard Bass, Tina Chancey and Susan Gaeta are joined by National Heritage Fellow and "living legend," Flory Jagoda. Beautiful, joyful, and plaintive songs from the centuries-old tradition of the Sephardim, the Jews of Spain. Come, listen, learn and enjoy!

The 2011 Christmas Revels
"Andalusian Treasures" Tickets on Sale |

Two Adventurers.
Three Ancient Cultures. 400 Years of Riches.
Our 29th annual celebration of the winter solstice harkens back over 1,000 years to the confluence of Moorish, Sephardic and Iberian cultures in medieval Andalusia. Led by the antics of two fools, and joined by guest musicians, Trio Sefardi and Layali El Andalus ("Andalusian Nights" in Arabic), we celebrate the legacy of the extraordinary flowering of arts and culture that began there and extended to much of the world for centuries thereafter. Presenting the three cultures together on stage, we honor the symbol that Andalusia has become (however imperfect the reality) of the ideal of greater tolerance and acceptance among different cultures and religions.
8 PERFORMANCES:
December 3-4 & 9-11 (matinees and evenings)
GW Lisner Auditorium, 21st & H Streets NW, Washington, DC
Visit the new 2011 Christmas Revels web site for a more detailed description of the show, complete performance and ticket information, bios of the musicians and actors, audio and video clips, and more - and to buy tickets!
