The 28th Annual Christmas Revels Opening Weekend!
|
Join us for the show that The Washington Post says "... should be part of every family's holiday festivities."
Travel to a 19th-century English village to mark the Winter Solstice. We'll celebrate an English Country Christmas with traditional carols, anthems, rounds, dancing, and a hilarious mummer's play.
Join the acclaimed Revels company (more than 75 performers, ages 8 to 80) to explore Thomas Hardy's beloved (if fictional) Wessex and the charming village of Mellstock. This year's guest artists, The Mellstock Band, come from England with a wonderful collection of string and wind instruments, including the haunting "serpent," a snake-like ancestor of the tuba. You'll also find Revels favorites Foggy Bottom Morris Men, Cutting Edge Sword Dancers, and our ever-delightful brass band.
8 PERFORMANCES: December 4-5 & 10-12 (matinees and evenings) Lisner Auditorium, 21st and H Streets NW, Washington DC>> Learn more and purchase tickets online

Keep the Tradition Going Your Year-End Donation Makes a Great Difference
|
Together with you, Washington Revels builds stronger connections among people as we discover and re-create age-old traditions and delve deep into our shared history. Together, we push back the darkness of the season as we listen, sing and dance to bring back the light, celebrating the joys of community along the way. Together, we help build a legacy of dynamic traditions for generations to come.
We depend upon the generous support of our friends to carry out our year-round programs. Please consider a gift to Washington Revels as part of your year-end giving. Your gift will help to build a more nurturing and vibrant community: arts education for children, cultural opportunities for families, and creative experiences -- singing, dancing, acting, crafting, and connecting -- for all who encounter the joy of Revels.
