Revels SunFest in Silver Spring, June 20 Celebrate
the Sun and Summer Solstice

 Join
Washington Revels for our
first-ever
multi-cultural festival in celebration of the Summer Solstice. The
day will feature traditional music and dance from Bolivia,
Bulgaria, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Nepal, Peru,
South Africa, United States, West Africa, and more!
Ellsworth Street in Silver Spring will be closed to vehicular traffic
and we'll party in the plaza. Washington Revels
will lead a parade
and "raise the Sun" with song, joined by other
performing arts groups on two stages, plus cameo performances by
other singers and instrumentalists. There will be artisan handicrafts
and activities for kids. Cost: Free! Date and Time: Sunday, June 20, 1-5pm Location: Downtown Silver Spring, Maryland (Ellsworth

many ways to participate and you don't have to volunteer for the entire

Montgomery Country Heritage Days Saturday and Sunday, June 26-27
|
 Join
Montgomery County in celebrating its rich heritage during the
Heritage Days Festival. Visit fascinating historic sites, some rarely
open to the public except on this special weekend. Revels will be the
featured presenters at several heritage sites throughout the weekend
of June 26-27. Saturday,
June 26, noon to 1 PM: Revels leads a CoMOOnity
Sing
at the grand opening of the King
Barn Dairy MOOseum.
Come enjoy this sing-along, filled with songs of country life and a
few special tunes about cows! Saturday and Sunday, June 26-27, throughout the day: Meet characters
right out of Civil War and Underground Railroad history: a Quaker
widow, a former slave turned preacher, and the largest
African-American landowner in Montgomery County. Read more for
