Washington Revels

I know there will be spring, as surely as the birds know it when they see above the snow two tiny, quivering green leaves. Spring cannot fail us.

Community Sing
Celebrate the Start of Spring at  Washington Revels' Open House!
Sunday, March 21, 1:00-5:00pm

Washington Revels moved into wonderful new space last fall, and now it's time for a housewarming party -- appropriately, on the first full day of spring! Please join us this Sunday for an afternoon filled with family-friendly fun (all free, of course).

You can tour the newly constructed 8,200-sq.ft. Ritchie Building, see our rehearsal/performance space, or visit the remarkable costume shop and prop collection. Our no-longer-bare walls will be decorated with photos, banners, and props of past Revels productions.

Join in group singing (songbooks provided) at 2:00 and 4:00pm, and a community ritual to dedicate the space at 3:00pm. There will also be some kids activities, Maypole dancing (weather permitting) and light refreshments. We'll be giving away Revels t-shirts from past productions -- first come, first served.

Throughout the afternoon, enjoy brief performances by our Sea Revels troupe and musicians, Doug Baumgardt (hammered dulcimer), Diana Lewis-Chun (flute), Mike Matheson (concertina), Oran and Jamie Sandel (guitar and fiddle duo), Riki Schneyer (featured singer from our 2008 Quebecois Christmas Revels), and other special guests.

Please park in the Silver Spring International Middle School lot at the corner of Wayne Avenue and Dale Drive (enter from Wayne Ave., just beyond Dale Dr.).
