"2009 AZSBJJF Kids Division Top 3"
Check out the final 2010 School Rankings for the Adult and Kids Division for this season. The Ranking includes results from 5th AZ International Open, 2nd AZ Kids Cup, 2010 AZ State Championship & 2nd Southwest Classic. Team GD Jiu-Jitsu won the Adult Ranking for the second year in a row and MMA Lab won the Kids Division, improving from 2009's 3rd place.
Notable Mentions: In the Kids Division, Relson Gracie AZ improved from eighth place in 2009 to third place in 2010. In the Adult Rankings, Martin Escobar's team, Rey Diogo/De Brazil, improved from fifth place in 2009 to third place in 2010. In 2011, we are expecting to break 700 competitors for the first time.When deciding on the MVPs, the following criteria was used: 1) Most amount of Gold medals won, 2) Belt rank, 3) Age division, and 4) Bigger bracket. For example, in the case of a tie, the award will go to the competitor with the higher belt rank. If a tie still exists, then the award will go to the competitor who was placed in a more difficult age division (Adult division presents a higher challenge than the Juvenile, Master, and Senior divisions). Finally, if there is still a tie situation, the award will go to the competitor who was placed within larger brackets. Kids Division MVPLevi Escobar of Rey Diogo/De Brazil won Gold in all 4 tournaments in the Orange belt divisionAdult Division MVPMMA Lab's Ben Henderson won 6 medals in three tournaments with Gold in all events for a total of 4 Gold and 2 Silver medals. His wins includes a Gold medal in the Adult, Brown belt, Open class. Standouts:In the Kids Division, Ashlyn Senior (Megaton) won 4 tournaments in the Yellow belt division. In the Adult Division, Blue Belt, David Larson (GD Jiu-Jitsu) won Gold in all events plus 2 Silver Places from the Open Class in the Masters divison for a total of 5 medals.

Set your calenders for the 6th Arizona International Open of BJJ, scheduled for February 26th-27th, 2011. The 2010 MVPs of the Year and Top 5 Schools will also be awarded at the tournament. Be sure to compete!
