IBJJF Standard Rules at AZSBJJF Tournaments
The AZSBJJF can now be found on YouTube. Currently, the AZSBJJF YouTube
Channel features several videos addressing and explaining the IBJJF
Rules and Regulations used for all AZSBJJF tournaments.
Parents,
competitors, instructors, and coaches should take the time to watch
these videos, as it will help in the preparation for future competitions
following IBJJF guidelines.

2nd Southwest BJJ Classic
GD Jiu-Jitsu Events and the AZSBJJF is proud to present the 2nd Southwest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Classic. The tournament will offer Divisions for Kids (4-15), Juveniles (16-17), Adults (18-29), Masters (30-35) and Seniors (36+).
Every Kids Division competitor will receive a chance to win a Nintendo Wii, regardless of win or loss. ALL Winners in the Juvenile, Adult, Master, and Senior Divisions (White through Black, Male and Female) will have a chance to win a Plane Ticket to Lisbon, Portugal to compete in the 2011 European Jiu-Jitsu Championship!*
Winners of the Adult, Black Belt, Absolute Light (Up to 167.5 lbs) and Absolute Heavy (Over 167.5 lbs) will receive Plane Tickets to Portugal!

NEW Kids Division Policies and Procedures
This year, the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), the
World's leader and authority on BJJ, promoted their very first Kids
Jiu-Jitsu tournament in the US, the 2010 Pan Kids Jiu-Jitsu
Championship.
Since the AZSBJJF base its tournaments on their
guidelines, the AZSBJJF has decided to adopt their policy and procedure
for Kids competitors that don't make weight, are registered in the wrong
division, or have no matches in their registered bracket.
ATTENTION PARENTS/COACHES! Be sure to READ these new changes BEFORE registering your child/students to compete! Here is the

Competitors must fill out their registration online.
**Registration will close when the competitors limit of 200 is reached for the Kids Division and 450 for the Juvenile and Adults Divisions**
Pre-Registration Prices: Kids: $45 Juveniles and Adults: $55
Pre-Registration ends October 8th @ 11:59 PM!
Regular Registration Prices: Kids: $55 Juveniles and Adults: $65

GD Jiu-Jitsu Events will be offering FREE tournament T-Shirts to ONLY competitors who Pre-Register for the 2nd Southwest BJJ Classic!
To receive a FREE Competitor's T-Shirt, be sure to register by the PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE on OCTOBER @ 8TH 11:59 PM. Competitors registered AFTER this time will NOT receive a T-Shirt.

Food Drive Continues in 2010
2009 was the inagural year for the GD Jiu-Jitsu Food Drive with the United Food Bank.
The United Food Bank is responsible for distributing your food donations to over 240 agencies such as churches, youth and senior programs, crisis centers, and soup kitchens. GD Jiu-Jitsu Events plans to continue its support in 2010!
*UFC Middleweight Fighter, Aaron Simpson, came out to support the GD Jiu-Jitsu Food Drive for the United Food Bank at the 5th AZ Int'l Open of BJJ on March 13th, 2010*
GD Jiu-Jitsu Events hopes to continue working with the United Food Bank and donate even more food in 2010. Your next opportunity to donate food will be during the 2nd Southwest BJJ Classic at Westwood High School in Mesa, AZ on October 16-17, 2010.
Participants will receive a raffle ticket for every 5 food items donated. Prizes will be raffled off throughout the tournament.
