EXHIBIT, "WINDOWS ON THE HILL"
AT
THE CAPITOL HILL ARTS WORKSHOP
|
WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) will open a special photography
exhibit, "Windows
on the Hill: Ten Years of Children's
Photographs at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop," on Saturday, September 12, 3-5
PM. Admission to the exhibit is free,
but a walk down Barracks Row Main
Street and a visit to CHAW are necessary to see
the entire exhibit. As an exhibit,
"Windows on the Hill" reaches beyond CHAW's building at 545 7th Street SE to the
windows of more than 20-retail establishments on Barracks Row, running from Pennsylvania Avenue
to M Street SE along 8th
Street SE.
The exhibit is a coproduction with CHAMPS (Capitol Hill Association of
Merchants and Professionals) with support from Barracks Row Main Street. It is funded in part by a grant from the
National Capital Bank Fund of the Community Foundation for the National Capital
Region. All the photographs were taken by children enrolled in CHAW's Youth
Arts Program in the past ten years. Curators for the exhibit are Bruce McKaig,
Chair of CHAW's Photography Department, and Kent Gay. The exhibit continues at CHAW and in the
retail establishments of Barracks Row through October 12th. |
