Second Saturday is this Saturday, September, 12th on Barracks Row.  Stop by participating retailers who will be open extended hours, 6 - 9 PM.  Retailers host wine and light hors d'oeuvres receptions, as well as special events. Come support your local retailers!

Oktoberfest Vendors
This year Capitol Hill's Oktoberfest is September 26, 11 AM - 5 PM on Barracks Row--see below. If you or your organization would like to host a table or tent at the event, there is still time to get in your application. 

We are especially interested in local artists and craft vendors, but all applications are welcomed!

PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT, "WINDOWS ON THE HILL"
AT THE CAPITOL HILL ARTS WORKSHOP


CHAW Windows Exhibit Photo    WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) will open a special photography exhibit, "Windows on the Hill:  Ten Years of Children's Photographs at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop," on Saturday, September 12, 3-5 PM.  Admission to the exhibit is free, but a walk down Barracks Row Main Street and a visit to CHAW are necessary to see the entire exhibit.  As an exhibit, "Windows on the Hill" reaches beyond CHAW's building at 545 7th Street SE to the windows of more than 20-retail establishments on Barracks Row, running from Pennsylvania Avenue to M Street SE along 8th Street SE.  The exhibit is a coproduction with CHAMPS (Capitol Hill Association of Merchants and Professionals) with support from Barracks Row Main Street.  It is funded in part by a grant from the National Capital Bank Fund of the Community Foundation for the National Capital Region. All the photographs were taken by children enrolled in CHAW's Youth Arts Program in the past ten years.  Curators for the exhibit are Bruce McKaig, Chair of CHAW's Photography Department, and Kent Gay.  The exhibit continues at CHAW and in the retail establishments of Barracks Row through October 12th.
